  1. The Cayenne is history, part exchanged it on an Audi TT Quattro, will miss it for sure and thanks for all the advise and help that I've received.
  2. Had codes read and it pointed to low voltage issues, as I said previously battery was replaced by Porsche last July. Put the battery on charge for 3hrs, starting voltage 11.4 volts and when charge was complete it was 14.4 volts. Started the engine and hey presto no 4 wheel drive system warning alarm which would confirm that it's voltage driven. This only started a week ago during the cold nights, I don't use the car every day and when I do it's only for short journeys. What's the way forward with this, should I buy a maintenance charger like a CTEK for example to use when the car is sat idle or is their another way?
  3. I'm getting the codes read tomorrow, I will report back afterwards.
  4. I used to get this fault if the car had been stood for a week or so, once the car had been used for a few miles if you switched the car off and back on again the fault disappeared. I found as time went on it was happening more often and I decided to change the Battery, once the battery was changed I had no more issues during the warm Summer months. Now that we are experiencing colder temperatures overnight every time I use the car I get the fault again and after a few short miles if I stop and start the car again it disappears until the next start the following day after been parked overnight. Anybody got any experience of this themselves and if so what was the fix?
  5. Thanks for the heads up, will file that one away for future reference.
  6. The rear ones near the exhausts are the first to not work from what I've read here on the forum. Did you buy the ones of eBay that I bought? Hopefully they will do the trick.
  7. My local Indy changed them, I decided to change all mainly because they were a good price, time will tell on the reliability side, they were fitted in April and have worked faultlessly since.
  8. I had the same problem as you, all connectors were checked and cleaned, still not working so I had to replace all the front and rear sensors in the end and it is now working perfectly! These are the sensors I bought from eBay PARKING ULTRASONIC SENSOR FRONT / REAR FOR VW TOUAREG PHAETON / PORSCHE CAYENNE WWW.EBAY.CO.UK VW Phaeton 3D_ [2002-2016] Saloon. VW Touareg 7P5 [2010-2018] SUV. VW Touareg 7LA, 7L6, 7L7 [2002-2010] SUV. Porsche Cayenne 9PA [2002-2010] SUV. Porsche Cayenne 955 [2002-2010] SUV. Remarks: Sensor type:...
  9. The easiest fix of them all is do not allow any liquids in the car, usually it ends up being spilt anyway!
  10. Went the Porsche stealership in the end, had new battery fiitted and coded, (2 year warranty) they also did the usual healthcheck on video and supplied the written version. They also did an old recall item, rubber bush on the gear selector cable and finally full valet done. Cost me £400! The Porsche dealership experience is very polished and slick however would I go back? The jury is still out at the moment lol
  11. Job done, after carefully prying them apart on the donor & recipient mats fitted them without issues after making the holes a little bit bigger in the new mats. As always thanks for the info.
  12. I bought a used set of Porsche overmats for my 2005 Cayenne (donor car was a 2009) the mats fit perfectly but the fixing clip holes are smaller so I cannot fasten them down, can these be easily swapped so the new mats can be used?
  13. What is the correct battery for my 2005 Cayenne 3.2 V6, mine is getting on and I would like to replace it before the Winter.
  14. I don't know if I'm using the right forum but I want to replace my black roof rails on my 2005 Cayenne (Corrosion lifting the black off). I would prefer black but silver will be ok as well as I will just get them powder coated.
  15. When locking my 2005 Cayenne the led for the alarm status is saying there is a fault in the system (It flashes rapidly for 2 seconds, stays lit for 28 seconds and then flashes slowly) the manual says this indicates a fault in the system, can anybody point me in the right direction as to pinpoint where the problem or issue might be?
  16. My 3.2 V6 is always a bit lumpy when cold but once it's warmed up it goes like a rocket, any ideas as to what could be causing it?
  17. I'm told from other sources that the pcm will need coding for the camera to work, it's in on the 21st May for other work so I'll have it looked at then.
  18. Update. The PCM was changed before my ownership for a second hand one, does it need coding for the reverse camera to work?
  19. According to the build sheet for my Cayenne it was fitted with a factory reversing camera, cut a long story short it doesn't work and I cannot see any evidence that its trying to work. Where are these factory fitted cameras located? The only place I can see it might be is under a flap just below the tailgate glass hatch lifting mechanism, am I right? I've never seen one of these camera's on all the Cayennes I've looked at, I assume it should show the image on the PCM screen but as I've said absolutely nothing is seen there.
  20. I'm a little surprised that both front and rear have both failed and not working - is their a common denominator?
  21. Both my front and rear parking sensors are not working, I get an audible warning when selecting drive or reverse and the two red leds are showing on the display panels (they go off above 10mph). Diagnostics shows all sensors front and rear to be bad, is this possible or is it something else? Before I buy 12 new sensors hopefully I will be pointed in the right direction.
  22. Thanks, it's in for some work on the 8th April, I'll have it checked then.
  23. My front and rear parking sensors always show the first two red bars (from left to right) without any audible warning, the lights go out once I reach 10 mph and when I go below this speed they come on again. I've also drove right up to my garage door (2-3 inches from the door) and no change in the sensor lights on the dash and no audible warning either - has anyone else experienced the same problem and if so what was the fix?
