I'm getting the codes read tomorrow, I will report back afterwards.

Had codes read and it pointed to low voltage issues, as I said previously battery was replaced by Porsche last July.
Put the battery on charge for 3hrs, starting voltage 11.4 volts and when charge was complete it was 14.4 volts.
Started the engine and hey presto no 4 wheel drive system warning alarm which would confirm that it's voltage driven.
This only started a week ago during the cold nights, I don't use the car every day and when I do it's only for short journeys.
What's the way forward with this, should I buy a maintenance charger like a CTEK for example to use when the car is sat idle or is their another way?

  2. I used to get this fault if the car had been stood for a week or so, once the car had been used for a few miles if you switched the car off and back on again the fault disappeared.

I found as time went on it was happening more often and I decided to change the Battery, once the battery was changed I had no more issues during the warm Summer months.

Now that we are experiencing colder temperatures overnight every time I use the car I get the fault again and after a few short miles if I stop and start the car again it disappears until the next start the following day after been parked overnight.

Anybody got any experience of this themselves and if so what was the fix?

    A little update:

I started changing the outer sensors but still weren’t getting any results. I was going to change them all over the weekend but stumbled upon a YouTube video where a mechanic said he had never needed to change any sensors ever and the way he fixes them is he sprays a little WD-40 straight onto each sensor from the outside and then wipes them off.

I did did this and immediately front sensors started working. And after letting it sit over night, all of them are working!

so if anyone finds this thread with faulty park assist, try spraying a little wd 40 on each sensor and wait. Wd-40 drives out all the moisture from the sensors, which I guess is the secret sauce to this wizardry!

Thanks for the heads up, will file that one away for future reference.

Great! Mine will arrive today so i will fit them this weekend. Looked at one of the rear ones ner the exhuast and that one looked really trashed, so hopefully changing them will do the trick!

The rear ones near the exhausts are the first to not work from what I've read here on the forum.

Did you buy the ones of eBay that I bought?

Hopefully they will do the trick.

  5. I had the same problem as you, all connectors were checked and cleaned, still not working so I had to replace all the front and rear sensors in the end and it is now working perfectly!

These are the sensors I bought from eBay

  6. Went the Porsche stealership in the end, had new battery fiitted and coded, (2 year warranty) they also did the usual healthcheck on video and supplied the written version.

They also did an old recall item, rubber bush on the gear selector cable and finally full valet done.

    Cost me £400!

The Porsche dealership experience is very polished and slick however would I go back? The jury is still out at the moment lol

  7. According to the build sheet for my Cayenne it was fitted with a factory reversing camera, cut a long story short it doesn't work and I cannot see any evidence that its trying to work.

Where are these factory fitted cameras located? The only place I can see it might be is under a flap just below the tailgate glass hatch lifting mechanism, am I right?

I've never seen one of these camera's on all the Cayennes I've looked at, I assume it should show the image on the PCM screen but as I've said absolutely nothing is seen there.

Check the wiring loom plug located on the right hand side of the vehicle (as you stand behind the vehicle) behind the bumpers I had same fault on the rear with only the two red lights lighting up when in reverse and it was the loom plug needed cleaning and re connecting. You have to remove the rear bumper/spoiler to get to it

I'm a little surprised that both front and rear have both failed and not working - is their a common denominator?

  9. Both my front and rear parking sensors are not working, I get an audible warning when selecting drive or reverse and the two red leds are showing on the display panels (they go off above 10mph).

Diagnostics shows all sensors front and rear to be bad, is this possible or is it something else?

Before I buy 12 new sensors hopefully I will be pointed in the right direction.

Hi, Yes I had this problem on my rear sensors and found there was a plug behind the bumper that was not good pin condition. I pulled it apart and cleaned and sprayed WD40 then re plugged and now it's working. You have to take off the rest bumper. There is also the same behind the front bumper with the plug being on the right hand side as you stand in front of the vehicle looking at it.

Thanks, it's in for some work on the 8th April, I'll have it checked then.

  11. My front and rear parking sensors always show the first two red bars (from left to right) without any audible warning, the lights go out once I reach 10 mph and when I go below this speed they come on again.
I've also drove right up to my garage door (2-3 inches from the door) and no change in the sensor lights on the dash and no audible warning either - has anyone else experienced the same problem and if so what was the fix?
