  1. Yes - indeed. A lot of work. But **** it would look nice, especially if you could add the light to the original sills. I guess you could just buy the wiring harness and then add the light yourself. First thing to do would be to remove one door sill and see how it is made.
  2. 104 views - but no reply. Come on guys. I can't be the only one which have been looking at those door sills and hoped they could light up.
  3. Hi. I have a PGTS with the door sills as shown in the picture. First I thougt that they would light up, but they don't. I don't have that option. I know you can buy new sills from suncoastparts, but I would like to see if light can be added to the original sills. Have anybody tried this ? Also I would like to see a wiring diagram for this.
  4. Okay - in that case I am quite sure it is in the cluster the problem is. Anybody knows how to take the cluster out ?
  5. In that case I guess it should be able to read the RPM out of the Motronic unit and check if this is a sensor or cluster problem.
  6. Anybody know if i would be able to connect a reader to the car in order to see if the RPM sensors are working ?
  7. Tried with disconnecting the cluster / battery with no luck. Also a few thud on the dash did not bring it back to life. But 2 absolutly very good suggestions
  8. Any help here guys ? Would be really nice to put back into mint condition.
  9. Hi. Today I cranked up my old 944 for the first time in 2 years. It has been parked for over 10 years and my plan is to get it back in shape and then enjoy driving this now old fine car. Believe it or not, after installing a new battery it fired up after 3 seconds. Simply amazing if you ask me. Problem is now that I don't get any RPM indication on the instrument cluster. Rest of the gauges work fine, but the RPM needle seems dead. Any help on where to start ?
  10. Try to change the MAF sensor back to the old one just to see how the engine then run. If it runs smooth it seems like you got a defect MAF sensor.
  11. Do we know how it went ? I am looking at the same problem. The seal item 2 needed top be replaced. Has someone ever tried this ? and does the window need to come off just for changing the seal ? Even my local dealer did not look to happy when I asked for a fixed price on the job <_< Thanks for any imput,
  12. Okay, a long time later....sorry. But time to finish and close this topic. For not making this answear to long here is the conclusion. You can NOT use an ohmmeter to measure the brakesensors as long as they are installed. Reason why is that you might measure thru the disc and back. Meaning that you might be getting a good 0 ohm even the sensor is broken. What I did is that I went to my local dealer and he gave me some used sensors for free. I then cutted the sensors away and shorted the 2 wires from the connector. With that I just tried it on all the wheels and wupti 1 brakepadsensors where bad. Good luck, Pierre
  13. Hey, What more to wish for then 2 of the best guys helping me here, Loren and Tool pants thanks :notworthy: I will try to ask my local dealer if he have some used sensors so I can make those "dummy" plugs. But I tried to ohm from left front wheel to right front wheel which means I then measure all wiring except the one going from the front wheels to the cluster. Does any of you know where those wires goes in and out of car or if they end up in a connector somewhere before the cluster ?
  14. Well first of all a big hello to all again. Have not been here for a looooong time. Well the car has been running great all summer and the new little smurf is having fun on the rear seat in a little baby seat. But I am struggling with 2 VERY anoying things on the car. first thing is that my Brake pad sensor light wont go out, second is a problem with the PSE which I cant close anymore. But lets only deal with the brake pad sensor light here. What is happening: Light remains on all the time. What I have done: 2 new sensors in front, Tested with an ohm meter ALL sensors and they where fine. Tested loop from right front wheel to left front wheel. All with no problems. When the car was on jacks suddenly the light was off we thought it was maybe just a plug then which where bad. We mounted the wheels on again took the car off jacks and it was fine. Thought we had fixed it and started to work on the PSE problem, when we where finish and started the car up again, light came on again :cursing: Saw the same thing in the beginning with light going on and off, often started off and then after a lilttle driving light came on. At that time I was sure it was becourse of the brakepads which where bad. Have anybody had this problem or just a good idea what to do. Thinking about that the wire might be bad between the cluster and the brakesensors, but I have no idea where they go in and out. Thanks for any input.
  15. 1999Porsche911, Well if I had a backup of everything I bed you I would not be writing here  I have always said that real men do not make backups, but also that real men are allowed to cry :( But I have leared from all this that I from now will make some kind of backups. This is not gonna happen again. Normal harddrives are simply not made strong enough to spin for many years with 5400 or 7200 RPM which is normal.
  16. Porschelibrarian, I remember I talked to alot of people at that time about it. It will take ages if I have to scan everything. Kim, The price for retrieving the data can be very high. That is an option I am working on but I am not even sure that there is no physically damage of the drive. Regards, Pierre
  17. I just lost my 250 GB storage drive yesterday, The Harddrive simple started to smoke and then the 5400 RPM made its last spin. :( Besides alot of div musik, tools and other stuff, my hole Porsche archive is gone. That was Workshop manuals for the 996, 944 and 968 and alot of pictures and documentation of mods I have done on my car :( So can anybody help me with the workshop manuals. I can simply not handle to scan the hole paperversion. Please guys  Most importent is the 996, because that is the car I have now. You can Email me on Pviby@hotmail.com if needed. In advance, thanks for you help.
  18. Have not tried NXT. But polished my car with Rejex 5 month ago, and it is still extremely easy to wash and clean.
  19. Why a different part number for tha cab ? I think they are the same, but might be the installation kit that is different. I installed the DSP amp in my car and it works and plays super.
  20. FLAT 6... How did it go ? I am thinking about doing it also but I am a little scared about " Pull the side window seal down and out of the window profile" :-(( affraid i am damageing the window. As i am reading it, the window is stilll installed in the car when you take the seal of ... not ? ?
  21. Well maby they still think the southern part of Sweden is still a part of Denmark, we should never have given it back......muhahahaa. Try to update to the newest version of software if it don´t help there is nothing you can do.
  22. Hmm...as you say the remote sensor in the car deactivate after 5 days, therefore you "should" be able to open the car with the key. Since that is not possible "as I can see it" it must be the car keyhole wich is not working correctly. If someone can´t help you to get into the car you need to find out which window is the cheapest to replace and then smash it to get into the car. My suggestion would be the rear window behind the drivers door. But wait and see what Porsche can come up with. Good luck.
