  1. Had a bit of bad luck driving on the Long Island Expressway last Thursday (see rennlist "How do you pick an auto body shop?") and I'm in need of a good auto body shop. Quick description: small hole in bumper, along with scratches around it, and dents and scratches on the hood. (Pictures at the link above.) Nothing major, but I'm getting mixed messages from the shops I've taken it to: replace the hood, don't replace the hood, replace the bumper, don't replace the bumper, etc. Geico is paying for it, but I'm guessing they won't go for replacing anything, and I'm not sure anything really needs replacing. I'm thinking that the paint mismatch would be worse (harder to do) if an entire piece is replaced. Can anyone recommend a good shop, preferably near Huntington (close to the middle of the Island)? Thanks. tom 2003 C2 Cab, Metallic green
  2. Does anybody know about this indy in Huntington? Thanks. Tom
  3. Does anyone know how many alarm switches are used on the Cab top to detect fully open and fully closed positions? I'm having alarm problems that might be related to whether the top is open or closed. I think the alarm switch for the open position might be getting jammed with fabric that's come loose. Thanks. tom '03 C2 Cab, Dark Teal
  4. Thanks Loren. I envy your technical library! What's the best way to remove the plastic rivets? It looks like an upholstery trim tool might work well. Here's a picture of what I'm referring to for the roof liner: The 4 sided piece in the middle of the photo has the velcro strips. Do you think that that is item 6 in the pdf you attached? Thanks again. tom
  5. I'm looking for two part numbers for my '03 C2 Cab. 1. I need to replace the Velcro strips that join the inside headliner pieces on both sides in the back. Local dealer never got back to me and I can't find them. I did come across something at Home Depot, but the instructions said they were not to be used on fabric. 2. I'd like to replace the wheel liner (front drivers' side), but it doesn't quite look like any of the drawings I found on dcAuto's website. Here's a pic: Could it be 996.504.123.03? I guess I should remove it and check the number on the back of it, assuming it's numbered! Thanks! tom
  6. The remotes are new, replaced when the new alarm control was replaced, so I assume the batteries are new too. But I'll try new ones anyway. I'm now getting double flashes, that I thought meant there was something open, but no horn beep. The range of the remotes has always been really short. Ten feet at best. Might have to try the range mod. Tom
  7. This started happening a few days ago: Lock the car with the remote. LED alarm doesn't flash for about 10 seconds, then flashes 21 times. After that it flashes normally (if I recall correctly). Today it's doing the double-flash, so there is something unlocked or broken (the alarm control was replaced when I bought the car). Is it flashing a diagnostic code? Looks like I'll have to get the diagnostic readout for the other problem, but I'd like to check the main connector first. Is the alarm control under the drivers' seat? Thanks. tom 2003 C2 Cab, Dark Teal over Gray
