  1. WOW! Sounds like we'll be trying to find the short and repair it. I'll keep everyone posted. :thankyou:
  2. Loren, does Porsche sell the wiring harness from the sensor to the ECU or do you just have to find the problem and repair the wire and/or replace the connector?
  3. Same CEL? Which one P0342 or P1349? or both? P0342 is the camshaft sensor (on the side of the head) - it maybe time to inspect the wiring on that sensor and it's connector. Both.
  4. Update; I went in and my tech and I checked for a broken bracket and the bracket was fine. He told me that it was probably a faulty actuator. I went ahead and purchased a new one from Sunset Imports in Beaverton, Oregon, for 175.32; shipping included, Part number 996-105-303-71. No one else could come close to that price; everyone else was asking 230.00 and up. I went back in and we installed the new actuator and I didn't even make it out of the parking lot and got the same CEL. So we plugged in the cable and ran the camshaft actual values and it was getting an intermittent signal. When we man
  5. Thanks, I'm going to take her in next week. Strange it's the same exact problem as the last time. I hope it's the bracket.
  6. Loren, I got this CEL back in October; P0342 P fault code 112 Phase Sensor 1 Camshaft hall effect sensor 1 P1349 Camshaft Adjustment Bank 1 below limit I took it in and they replaced the left camshaft sensor, the problem stopped for a while (I don't drive the car that much so it took a few months). The problem came back, I cleared the codes to see if it would stop and it came back again this past Saturday. Any advice? Thanks.
  7. Buy a set of Forge from Vivid, I just bought a set along with Switzer hoses. Forge comes with a choice of springs to choose the psi setting of the DV, just use the one that comes installed when you receive them. They are yellow.
  8. What do you recommend? I am getting a new clutch and LWFW installed. So I thought since I've hit 12k miles and the engine will be out, I'm going to have them change the sparkplugs and gear lubricant. What is good for a '02 Gt2?
  9. Nope, it comes without the lock cylinder, so you just snap the old one in the slot. Although Sunset had it for 40 dollars less. I'll know who to buy from next time. Thanks Loren.
  10. I am replacing my glove box latch. When you order the new one, does it come without the locking mechanism? If so, does the old mechanism slide into the new latch?
  11. Does anyone know if the 997 Gt3 shifter will fit in a 996? Specifically a 996 Gt2. I owned a '05 Gt3 and loved the shift feel, I've been told that this one is improved, if that is so, I'm all in. Here is a photo of the new shifter.
  12. OK, I know this topic has been beaten to death, but I learned something today and I thought I would share my new found knowledge with my dear old forum members. Let's get the specifications out of the way, '02 Gt2, Stock K24's, Orton flash, DV's, and a Europipe II (quiet). To make a long story short, after the flash and DV's (pre-exhaust), my mechanic used the mark the nut method and turned each nut (clockwise) evenly. I believe at that time he turned them 4 full revolutions. Before the flash and DV's I saw the occasional .9 spike (stock) and the best dyno numbers were 444 rwhp, 426 rwt (st
  13. I adjusted my wastegates the other day. My car has a flash and a Europipe. I tried to set them using 12.5 psi and the wastegates should crack open. This should give you 1.1 with 1.2 spike. Unfortunately, I was getting 1.3 and 1.4 in fourth and fifth gear. I dialed them back and now I'm getting 1.1 and 1.2 in all gears. Although, I did experience some hesitation in fourth and fifth (It would not go past 1 bar) and then it mysteriously stopped. I then felt that you should be able to measure the rod tip to the nut to make sure that they are both equally adjusted, but the passenger side rod
  14. How do you remove seatbacks on the sport seat? I am interested in getting them painted. Are there any issues with fit when you try to put them back on? I've been warned that they are never the same when put them back on.
