  1. How would I bypass the clutch switch? I pressed it manually, and it goes to 0v (12v when released), so it appears to be working. Is there an easy test for the ignition switch? Thanks Loren!
  2. Does anyone know where the starter relay or fuse is, or if it even exists? The clutch micro switch is being depressed, but for some reason the starter won't kick in. Battery is new, I even tried to jumpstart the car. Nothing happens. Any ideas? Just went back out to try to start the car again. The pedal is super hard to press, and the reservoir marked Pentosin (I'm guessing clutch fluid) is showing really high levels of fluid. Could this be part of the problem? Or is this because I've pressed the pedal too many times? SOMEONE please help! I have a bad feeling about this...
  3. Does anyone know where the starter relay or fuse is, or if it even exists? The clutch micro switch is being depressed, but for some reason the starter won't kick in. Battery is new, I even tried to jumpstart the car. Nothing happens. Any ideas?
  4. I've had my 996 turbo for less than a month, and it seems like I have issues with it every week. Is this normal? This morning, I went out to crank it up. It didn't start. I heard a "creaking" sound when I turn the key, but the engine doesn't turn over at all. I know it's not the battery, since I just changed it (to be sure, I tried to jumpstart the car with no luck). Is there a starter relay or fuse somewhere? Power relay? Thanks!
  5. UPDATE: I put new billet aluminum diverter valves in. No change, I'm still holding steady at 0.9 bar when I should be holding at 1.2-1.3. Any ideas? I checked for leaks, and there doesn't appear to be any. Thanks!
  6. Now that is strange... definitely not what my fuse guide looks like. I wonder if someone at the factory was reusing the 01 guides...
  7. Strangely, my D8 fuse calls for a 15A (radio). That fuse was fine. D9 called for a 15A, and is labelled "sound." Even though the fuse looked fine. I changed it and out came sound! Thanks again Loren, you have saved me for I think the 3rd time now. I've never seen a fuse that looked fine and didn't work, but there's always a first. Who knows, maybe the legs weren't making contact. As a side question, do you know what D10 is? My fuse guide lists it as an "optional sound package" fuse, with a max of 5A. The slot is empty for my car. Thanks again!
  8. Fortunately, it wasn't my dealership. It must have been the previous owner's. I recently did an autocross, and my guess is that the screw came loose which created the leak.
  9. I found a blown fuse in the back of my radio, and replaced it. It turns on, but there is no sound from the speakers. Is there a fuse somewhere on the stock amp? I looked at it in the front trunk, and it didn't appear to have one. The radio fuse in the driver's footwell was fine. Any other ideas?
  10. Loren, You say you've seen them all. Have you seen this one? The dealer must have removed the inner wheel liner at one point, and the tech put an extra screw to hold the liner in. The screw went straight through t o the reservoir! I ended up putting silicone in the hole, and putting a tire patch on the outside of it. So far, no leaks. Thanks for the all the suggestions, I'm sure this must be a first...
  11. OK, that doesn't sound too bad. So, in all seriousness, do I just need to remove the wheel and fender liner? Thanks Loren!
  12. That's what I was afraid of... is there an FAQ on how to take it apart? IE, where is it? Please don't tell me if I have to remove the wheel and fender liner :(
  13. So, my low washer fluid light came on. I tried to fill it up, and washer fluid poured out from somewhere under my car around the driver's side front tire. I'm assuming I have a leak or crack somewhere. Is there an easy way to check this, or is their a common fix? Thanks!
  14. Well said. I've already got the parts, and will change them out ASAP. I'll keep everyone posted about the progress... now the only question is whether or not I had a chipped program already!
  15. I just bought a 911T w/ the X50 package. I was running .9bar STOCK, or what I thought was stock. I took it in to an Upsolute distributor, who read the map and said that it didn't appear to be a modified program. So, I purchased an Upsolute mod, which should have been good up to 1.1 bar (in addition to different timing, injector quantity, etc.). I got the car back, and I'm still hitting .9bar. Low-end torque MIGHT be a little better (I can't tell if I'm spooling up faster, or if my mind is playing tricks on me). It was suggested that I change out the stock diverter valves and put in the aftermarket ones. Question: Would the diverter valves be the problem? The stock ones aren't making noise at all, so I think they are fine. It feels as though the boost is being electronically controlled as opposed to mechanically. Any ideas on what is going on? I'd rather this not turn into a bashing of Upsolute, because I've had nothing but good service from them. Have others with the Upsolute chip experienced at least 1.1 bar? Thanks in advance!
  16. I pulled out the light, connectors look fine. Put it back in, and all the lights now work. THANK YOU LOREN! I would never have been able to figure any of this out without your help, or the link to the manual. I'm loving the car... next step, Upsolute chip.
  17. AWESOME! Renntech is quickly becoming a favorite site of mine. I was complaining to a fellow 911t owner about the lack of online support as compared to some other cars I've owned. Then, I found this site :) What does "MY03" stand for? Sorry, just starting out my 911t ownership...
  18. Unfortunately, no owner's manual (there's every other manual in the car, but no owner's manual :( ). Any manuals online?
  19. I just picked up an 02 X50 996 turbo. For some reason, NONE of the lights on the driver side front work. I don't think it's the bulbs, since all are out. Is there a common known fix for this? Harness issue maybe? I read something about regulator, too. How do you check for this? Radio doesn't work, either. Related problem maybe? Thanks!
