  1. Well, only 4 months into owning a 2000 911 C2 Coupe, 6 speed with 42,000 miles, I noticed a pool of coolant under the left side of the engine. I took it to the dealer and sure enough had a cracked coolant resevoir. The dealer repair charge was $834! (Bay Area prices - 3.5 hours labor at $155/hour.) Fortunately, when I purchased the car, I negotiated with the dealer to include an aftermarket extended warranty, which covered most of the cost. The aftermarket warranty covered my butt here! :D
  2. Well, I ordered the ignition switch today off eBay; I'll install it next week and see if it solves the issue. thanks
  3. I'm relatively new to this forum, and purchased a couple of months ago a 2000 C2 Coupe with about 40k miles. I love driving the car, but noticed that occasionally, the car won't start (and the starter won't crank) the first time I turn the key in the ignition. However, it always cranks and starts after turning the key in the ignition a second or third time. I originally thought I might not be pressing the clutch down hard enough... but after looking at a couple of posts on the forum, it sounds like it might be something to do with the immobilizer receiver. Right now it's not an issue and doesn't concern me much because the car has always started - but I don't want to get stranded and have the car not start and deal with towing it to the dealer. Before I call the dealer and have them look at it, is there some other likely problem that can be easily fixed (like changing the battery in my key or possibly replacing the ignition)? thanks! David
