FIXED!!
Quite easy, just took out the instrument cluster (15 minute job, very easy). Then removed the back from the cluster (white part). There is a small speaker attached to the white rear. Mine was broken. Just bought a replacement speaker at some elektro shop (3$). Put it in and it works great. All the sounds are back and even more clear than ever before. Took me a total of less then 50 minutes, and..... much cheaper than replacing the cluster.
Frank.
A much better solution than spending about $2,000 on a new instrument cluster and labor at the dealer. Now I need to figure out how to take out the cluster. Must be a link in the DIY forum.

As far as I know the speaker for the turn signals is inside the instrument cluster. Does it make the ding noise if you drive without your seatbelt on? I know for a fact the ding for the seatbelt warning in inside the cluster and I would guess the speaker for the turn signals is as well. The cluster is not serviceable.
Thanks. I will check it out.

Hi,
My 2003 TT does not make any noice when I use the turn signal. Could anybody tell me where the sound thing is located and whether it is easy to replace?
Thanks, frank
I have exactly the same problem. Dealer told me to replace the entire instrument cluster. Did you learn anything different? I don't see that anyone responded to you.
Thanks.
Brad
Turn Signal Click Sound Chime Failure

My 2003 Cayenne TT's turn signals do not click either. About two years ago, I found a posting from someone who wrote a nice response about how to fix this problem by going to an electronics store to buy a suitable replacement speaker. This was a much less costly solution than replacing the instrument cluster with a new, used, or rebuilt cluster. But I cannot find the posting. Perhaps it was on another forum. The posting also had photos. If you wrote that posting or know where I can find it, that would be wonderful. Thank you.
