Are TSB for clutch noises covered even when the car is out of warranty, just a question that many may be thinking about

Well I just finished cleaning the MAF , and the ICV, car still at over 1500 rpm's drove back to the turnpike and ran the hell out of the the car, nice 6000-7000 rpm shifts, baby now is running smooth as silk I guess the cleaning did the job for now. Thanks to Izzi, Loren and friends, you guys just save me a ton of money and I don't even work for Geico.

I just connected my Durametric tool and the following codes PO446, Evap Canister Shut Valve and PO 506 Idle air control engine speed too low.
Shoul I proceed with a cleaning of the MAF and the IVC

I just went out for a nice Cuban cofee, hit the Dolphin expressway and ran the car to 6500 rpm on 2nd, 3rd and dropped down to cruising, all of the sudden the car starts idling from 750 rpm to 2000 rpm all by itself, drove back home still doing it in cicles every two or three it stays at 2000rpm, is a 99 C2 with 63,000 miles, cold air intake, Fabspeed headers and mufflers, never had this issue before, any help.

Maybe I am a litle pre-historic, I just used my hand and pulled the marker out, unplug the light and installed the clear one on the 3rd light, and side markers, after all I had a few Grey Goose and cranberry at Houston's

Where can i get new front rear seatbelts other than the dealer

I have a 99 C2 with this very ugly 4 spoke steering, I would like to change to a 3 spoke or somethi9ng better. I need a steering and airbag. Does anyone knows where I can get one other than the dealer.

I hear you Izzy, Miami is a great place to live, you are right, I live in the Gables and sometimes I see 996 and 993 without headlights. I am lucky I was at the mall and not at a red light in Opalocka.
Anyways I am calling my insurance to get it fixed.

Last night at a local mall in Miami someone decided to take as a souvenir my two front headlights. Is this a common item stolen from a 99 C2. Is there anything I can do when new lights are installed to make it harder to steal.
It seems very easy and quick, the bad side is they damaged both front fenders.
Anyone with comments.

Well after 3 weeks of my car being in the shop I got it back, the problem is that 6 out of 14 items were not even completed and 2 others were not complete to my satisfaction. When I came back in after going over the car I handed the keys back to the Rep and told him that I will not take this car back. Then the GM step in and we sat down for about a hour.
This is the second time the car has been in the shop for a total of 6 weeks and some of these items were never fixed the first time. None of the items are big jobs, I just want to get the annoying items fixed The car is a 2000 C4 6 speed
Now I have to take it back on Friday and sit down with the master tech
1. I wanted them to fix the suspension creaks when going over speed bumps and driveway.
They could not find the problem.
Is there a TSB? I didn't see one
2. Front Differential has oil seeping.
Fix was them to wipe it off and see if it happens after the car is driven longer
Would you say this is right? Why not just replace the seal
3. Clutch Squeak when pressing down on pedal. (2nd time for this being looked at)
No fix. Said this is what old cars do.
I stated TSB 3005 Dated 9/8/00 and mech said this was not for this car.
4. Had clutch and flywheel replaced and after running the car around town you hear a rattle under the engine when the car is in neutral with clutch pedal out. Goes away when you press the pedal back in. Car did not do this before the replacement
Is there something I can do to make them fix it?
5. Buzzing noise or whining noise coming from engine area when in car just after car is started. Goes away when I start driving it. Sounds like a regulator.
They did not hear anything.
I have a 3rd party warranty, I'm going to sit down with the GM, service mgt, and their master tech on Friday to go over these items and the others that did not get even looked at and see what when wrong. After adding up what they did it looks like they spent 2.8 hours working on the car. This took 3 weeks and my car has 500 miles on it now.
If there is no resolve I will at a later time post the name of the company so that no one else gets service like this.
If anyone has answers for the list above it would help me greatly when I go in on Friday and disuse the issues at hand.
I also can't seem to print the TSB. Is there a way?

Good luck with your dealer, some extended warranties do not pay for certain items, make sure yours do, TSB's can only be printed and downloaded by contributing members, trust me a small donation is worth every cent in the information you will get from this web-site, furthermore I think all members of this forum should contribute at least $20.00 to keep the best Porsche forum alive and well.

I am looking to install satellite radio in my car, I have read several posts but none indicate where to mount the satellite antenna (maybe I missed it). Where is the most common location?
I am looking for the simplest install because I want to keep the original radio and don't want to take too many things apart.
If anybody has already done this any input will be extremely helpful. And lastly, XM or Sirius?

I installed a XM Radio because the signal is better, The antenna was placed inside the car near the back window, the conection thru the Porsche radio is done thru the signal imput of the FM, the quality is not great but acceptable while keeping the factory radio.

I also like to know what type of bilstein you use, sport or HD, I have HR springs with stock shocks and is very bouncy.

I have a feeling my MAF sensor is going bad... it was just replaced about a year ago (sadly, just more than a year ago, so I can't get it replaced for free under the 1yr parts warranty). I cleaned it with electrical cleaner, but the codes came back after 40 miles. I just wanted to check with you guys before I spring another $300 for a new MAF sensor.
Check your oil bellows, I have the same problem and my mechanic is working on the car today. I will let you know how it goes

A bad MAF would not usually cause misfires on only two cylinders.
You may have another problem with the P1125 but I would fix the misfires first - clear the codes and see if it comes back.
The correct Porsche part number for your MY car's spark plugs is:
996.170.207.91
They should be: 14FGR 6KQU
Loren, took the car to the dealer for a new remote programming, $120.00, at least they perform a diagnostic in the car, they said the oil bellows need replacement, $600.00 plus they added another $635.00 for a new MAF which I know I dont need and another $456.00 for bolts, hose oil leak etc.
I know the oil leak may be the problem, I check plugs, wires, and seems no problems there, I will let you know.

P0304 Misfire, Cylinder 4, Damaging to Catalytic Converter
P0306 Misfire, Cylinder 6, Damaging to Catalytic Converter
P1125 Oxygen Sensing Adaptation Area 1 (Cylinders 4 - 6) - Lean Threshold
If the CEL is flashing it should not be driven.
I would start by looking for cracked coil packs on cylinders 4 and 6.

Could it be the MAF or any other part in your opinion>

Yesterday I had my 99 C2 for service at my independent shop and the following codes are coming up PO304, P0306, P1125, with CEL on. We changed the boil, filter, air filter, clean the MAF, new fuel filter, Beru spark plugs and check all the ignition wires, the codes still showed up, but the CEL has not come up yet. The car is max out lean 25.5, can anyone direct me to a solution or should I go to the dealer.

In my search I drove the Boxter and Boxter S, I got hooked on the 996 C2 that I currently have, pay a litle more and go for the 911, you will never regret it.
