  1. just got an 06 Cayman S through inspection for a friend of a friend and wanted to share what worked. The two O2 and the Cat monitors were set, but they couldn't get either the secondary air or EVAP monitors to pass so it would go through inspection. I tried several times to get the SAI monitor to run and set at initial startup from cold, but it wouldn't. So, I cleared the monitors and started from scratch. I used this drive cycle: Start engine, let idle for approx. 2 min, 10 secs Accelerate to 20-30 MPH or 32-48km/h, Maintain steady speed for approx 3 min, 15 secs Accelerate to 40-60 MPH or 64-96km/h, Maintain steady speed for approx 15 mins Decelerate and come to a stop Idle in Neutral for 5 mins (manual trans). During the drive cycle, do not exceed 3,000 rpm or 60 mph (96km/h) After about 8 minutes into the 40-60 mph part I checked and both O2 and the Cat monitors had set. After about 20 minutes of 40-60 mph, with some stops and slowdowns (I live in upstate NY, full of hills, curves, deer, stop signs, etc.; no long flat roads), I pulled off and let it idle for 5 minutes in drive, then drove another 20 minutes home, and let it idle for another 5 minutes in park. This morning I did the drive cycle again, watching Lambda values in the initial start section. This time they peaked at about 1.2 and slowly climbed to about 1.24 before the air pump shut off (see picture). As I drove in the 20-30 mph part, I looked at my monitors and SAI and EVAP still had not set. 6 minutes into the 40-60 mph segment I checked again and the SAI monitor had set. When exactly it happened I don't know, but it did.
