Durametric pro is a great tool. Nice that my local PCA has them. Done on mine and a few others. So there’s a misconception. It even worked on a 997 and 987, 99-O4 986 and 996.2 i woukdnt call it luck. It’s Porsche being lazy.
It doesn't matter if you have 2,3,4 or even 100 stalks. From the Porsche’s maintenance people. They just plugged my car into their machine and activated it. Simple. All done with the wonderful 3 stocks.
I’m sorry if this has been talked about already. I just signed up here so plz forgive me. I have a 2002 986. I noticed that I have the air temp sensor on the drivers side grill. I’ve had the car for about 2 years now. I’ve never seen my instrument panel display a digital “85 degrees”. I’m hoping it’s a quick fix. I’m not sure if my year had that option. I hope I don’t need a code reader to fix this. Also, I have 2 keys. 1 with the Fob and a spare. The Fob never worked so I replaced the battery. Didn’t work. It doesn’t light up at all. I had a similar issue last week. I had a few drops near the rear wheels. Over the next few days, the drops got bigger. I filled the coolant tank all the way while the car was cold. The next day I go to my garage and I was swimming in coolant. Water pump. Odd because there was still plenty of fluid in the tank and the car never overheated. I went with an OEM pump and changed the belt as well. $500. I know the pumps are much cheaper on pelican parts but I didn’t want to take a chance. Now if someone can tell me why I don’t see the outside temp on/in my gauges anywhere, that would be great. The s
