  1. Is this normal for the hydraulic lifters to be rattling on cold start after parked for a while ? Is there a way to cold crank the engine without firing it to get oil pressure up ?
  2. Thanks for the Input ! But again , my objective is to eliminate the timing chain tensioner bleed down after parked for long periods. ( hate that rattling for a split second )
  3. Just what IS the right weight synthetic to run in the Boxster ? I have been running 5/40W Mobil 1 , and find that it bleeds off the timing chain tensioners over time when parked. Want to switch to 10/40W Mobil 1 - but they seem to have discontinued this and other 40W blends other than 0/40W. Many Porsche shops recommend 15/50W Synthetic. Porsche USA recommends 0/40W Mobil 1 !! Why in the world would they suggest such a light blend ?? Any thoughts on this subject ? JA
  4. hi there im a tech in bc there is no adjustment on these clutches it adjusts itself over time if u r experinceing clutch probs it probably needs a new one and make sure u check the flywheel as these tend to be weak after a while but normally u will hear a rattling at low idle sounds like its coming from the trani but its the flywheel normally hope this helps :welcome: Thanks to you both Loren and Lenny. I have no clutch problems at this time - but will bleed the system soon for maintenance .JA
  5. :huh:I have a 2001 2.7L Boxster with hydraulic clutch. Does this clutch require periodic adjustment ? Where and how is the adjustmnet made ? Thanks, JA
  6. <_< Have a 2001 Boxster 2.7L . Considering installing an "S" 3.2L motor. Questions : Does the 3.2L "S" motor slide right into place where the 2.7L motor was ? Will it mount to my 5 speed original transmission ? Is the clutch assembly the same ? Is there anything odd to prevent a straight and easy installation for this engine swap ? Thanks for the help ! John
