    Scam Alert

There is guy who calls himself David Peterson or David Murphy selling Recaro Porsche seats. Goes by davidpeterson083@gmail.com or davidmurphy9008@gmail.com, or caseywilliams053@gmail.com, or enosjoyce402@gmail.com. His phone number is (857)316-4183. Complete "Confidence Man" sales pitch and hard sell. Then attempts bait and switch on arrangements. Turns out his photos are stolen from other websites. He tries to operate using bitcoin and paypal family and friend gifts. Do Not send this guy any money.
  2. Does anyone know if the NB 964 will accept 17 X 8" front wheels or do they need to be 17 X 7"? Im getting close to a set of Fuchs for this. Just never been a fan of the Cup wheels. The Fuchs look like they belong. Thanks, Lou
  3. For what its worth, I inquired recently about a service manual set for a new to me 964. Porschelibrarian's name came up and I contacted him. I got a complete digital set of service manuals and quite of bit of other useful documents too with no issues. Using texts, emails, and phone calls, it was a pleasant and easy experience.
  4. With regard to service manuals, Im brand new to 911 ownership so I've been doing research on them here too. Im not new to vehicle maintenance, much of it aviation. I agree many manuals can and have been superseded but that doesn't necessarily mean they have no value. In my mind, they are part of a necessary picture of the systems in a vehicle. If studied they can greatly increase one's knowledge of said system. Comparing the guidance available on the internet with what is in these manuals should allow one to do quite a bit of DIY maintenance with relatively low risk. That has worked for me for years on the other machines, I see no reason a similar approach to these wont work here. That's my plan. That said, I got a complete set of manuals recently in digital format from a fellow Renntech person that is a library of very valuable information, much of it from the factory with which to compare and educate. I'm still going through it. The specs info you mentioned is there too. I highly recommend anyone needing them as part of their own resource library to contact Keith Hartley here. He goes by "Porschelibrarian".
