My 1999 Boxster keeps burning out the instrument cluster on the car (cluster freezes in place). I have replaced it 4 or 5 times. My mechanic has tried everything and thought he finally had it figured out. It blew in less then 2 miles again with this time smoke coming out of the dashboard. He has replaced everything that could possible cause an electrical surge. He has also replaced the fuses, etc etc. He has never heard of this and talking to other mechanics they have never heard of this. This has gotten really expensive. Any ideas out there??
