Just installed Fabspeed Cat Bypass Pipes on my 99' 996 (Stock mufflers still on). No check engine light and the car is definitely quicker. I can feel more torque and quicker acceleration (hands down no question) and they sound great! Surprisingly they are barely louder than the stock set-up so I am thinking about buying their mufflers. Great fit and finish as well. The install was fairly easy however the 02 sensors were the hard part. Basically have to remove the airbox to get at the plugs, label them and install them in the new pipes in their respective order. Well worth the money in my opinion!
99' 996 (Current)
98 Boxster
00 Boxster S
99 Boxster
How much time did it take to install, I have been thinking about getting a set myself.

Let me get to work on this and see what I can do for you guys.
I'll post back here as soon as I have info, and for those interested, we'll get started.
Thanks.
Count me in on a set for a 1999 C2! Let us know what colors are available!

The photo on Gert's webpage looks like a Fabspeed system or is the new PSE for P96?

Try Dent Pro.

I have a set in south san jose.

Group purchase count me in, I have a wheel but no bag!

If you turn the tool, you will hear a pop and the lower lip of the assembly will move.

Tool pants. The looks similar to the part in your picture, although it has been a few months since I have handled the piece so my memory has faded. Unless it is the owners intention to reinstall the 210 unit back in the car this part can be removed with some forceand may suffer damage without ruining the dash.
-
I did the same swap about 2 month ago. There is a thin trim piece you must remove in order to the 220 unit installed. All you need to do is pull on the piece gently and evenly and it will come right out. This piece must be removed or you cannot get the 220 unit in place. Good luck and enjoy.

Thank you very much!

Steering Wheel Part No. 996.347.804.53 BYR and airbag 996.803.089.02, are either of these part leather? Thanks

Thanks guys I will try again. Perhaps a sky hook might help.

I have 1996 C2 Cab with a 6 speed. The shift knob from what I can tell is stock. I have lifted up the leather boot and to find that this is not a set screw to remove. I tried to simply pull off the know without any luck. Am I missing something, a clip, etc! :cursing:

When is the next work day on cars! You can count me in on this one!

It turns out I had a faulty control unit, dealer paid for the part, my contribution for the labor was $130.00. Thanks everyone for all of the help.

My 99 Cab has a CR210 and to my understanding does not have an auxiliary input. I am considering installing a used CDR220 because it does have an auxiliary input. Is this a straight forward change or are additional parts or connectors necessary.
-
Thanks once again guys, I will contact the dealer first and go from there. Hopefully, either Steven's Creek or Carlsen are feeling generous this week.
-
Thanks once again. Toolpants, in the event the dealer will not cover the expense for the repairs (I do have a Porsche extended warranty) and I choose to do the work myself are special tools required other than screwdrivers and wrenches.
-
As my car is also a 99 I suspect this is the cause. Thank for your help. Is it possible to do the repairs at home and can the old connectors just be cleaned?
-
After filling up my car this morning with gas the dash air bag warning light came on and remained on. I have stopped and restarted the car several time, but the light remains on. Any suggestions other than the dealer. Thanks.

To use this feature is it required to have memory seats for both the passenger and driver or driver seat only. Thanks

For 222 my car does have a Traction Control dash switch and according to the manual "prevents spinning of the driven wheels when starting and accelerating.
I have (or Kindel should I say) 224 as "Active Brake Differential" is that the same as "Automatic Limited Slip Differential"?
Thanks for you help.
