  1. I was having the same issue with my rear seat latch on my '04 S as this tutorial describes: The first part, the broken teeth on the lever. I ordered a replacement and installed. It worked for a day and then immediately cracked again! Pictures here. Maybe because the part has been sitting on a shelf for so long? The teeth felt very thin to begin with. Any ideas for how to reinforce these if I order the part again? Seems like a design flaw to not make it out of metal or stronger plastic.
  2. Does anyone know where to order the headliner fabric? I need to have it replaced and an installer I went to said they can only get black. That doesn't seem right. I have an S with the normal cloth ceiling. Thanks!
  3. I have a 2004 S and I'm considering getting something newer. Does anyone know what year Porsche introduced cruise with stop and go function? I'm looking for something that can come to a complete stop in traffic and then accelerate again without any interaction from me. It doesn't need to steer as I know that's a much more recent feature. Also if you can let me know what it's called so I can put that into my search when looking for used models. Thanks! Dan
  4. I figured it out! There are three bolts you can see once you open the top glass. You remove the black covers and use a torx bit to unscrew them. Then the whole panel lifts off. I was able to unscrew the rear third light and replace the part.
  5. The rear nozzle sprayer on my ‘04 Cayenne S cracked and the water is spraying in the wrong direction. I purchased the replacement part but I can’t find any tutorials online for replacing it. Is this something I can easily do on my own? Anyone know how to do it? Thanks!
  6. Really? It sounds like wind noise when I'm driving not tire noise. I purchased these tires: 255/55R-18 DUNLOP SIGNATURE HP XL
  7. Hey everyone. I have a 2004 Cayenne S that I absolutely love driving. About to hit 180k miles! One of my only complaints is the noise level on highway driving. It’s pretty bad for a luxury car. I remember my dads 1999 Lexus sounding much quieter. Does anyone know if this second generation has better insulation for highway noise? I just might have to switch. Also any particular years I should avoid if I look for one? thanks!
  8. My 2004 Cayenne S at 170k+ miles is doing the hard shifts between 4th and 5th on acceleration such as passing another car or a highway on ramp. I'm having trouble finding someone in NYC that's not the dealer who will work on this. The shop I took it to said without a code they don't know what it is. I saw some old posts on here about the rebuilt Revmax Valve body but who would I get to install it? Thanks!
  9. Got this figured out. It was the front differential. Had to get a replacement. It was a 7 hour job. Ouch!
  10. I am getting a low drone sound from my front right tire at speeds below 60mph. The strange thing is, when I press the accelerator, it goes away. The tires are only about 6 months old and this just started. I already checked tire pressure. Any thoughts?
  11. My 2004 came with some junk stick on fake wood trim kit. I got it all off but I'd like to make some of the tan/camel pieces match the satin aluminum porsche put in several places. Has anyone found a good match? What about Dupli color silver? My whole car was $5k all in, so mixing a custom color at a high end place doesn't seem cost effective. I'd like to do the center and some trim pieces like door lock surrounds and air vent surrounds. Thanks!
