I know. I'm thinking of sending it back to be honest. This is what was advertised, but what they send is different. When I brought it to their attention they said it's an old photo! The one in the photo is the proper one,but the one they sent is the 987 canister in a different code as PCG 201 221 01

Since I live in Europe,I'm ordering from design 911. They told me that the part number is now superceded by pcg 201 221 01, and that is basically a 987 canister with an additional plug, to plug off the pipe that usually attaches to the nipple at the top of the 986 canister. But they still haven't answered me when I told them that there's also the issue of the purge valve. I tried explaining that the purge valve will have nowhere to go when fitting in the 987 canister,but they came back to me with "we sold a number of these units already for 986 owners, and none of them had any issues"!!!!

So I want to change my carbon canister on my 986, and when I ordered it, they sent me of the 987 instead. They told me that the 986 canister had been discontinued, and that the 987 canister us being used instead. As you can see there's a difference between the two. The 986 canister has a nipple on top, which the 987 canister doesn't have. That is not so much of an issue, because they also sent me a plug, to insert in the pipe that usually goes in that nipple. But what I wasn't told is what I should do with the purge valve. As can be seen ,the 986 canister has a housing on top where the purge valve fits. I want to know, what do I do with the purge valve that usually fits in there, do I just tie it to the canister and leave it unplugged? Does anyone have any experience on these mods for the 986 canister?
