  1. Thank you all for your kind welcome! I've been backed up with other priorities but I'm getting close to start driving my car and learning all about it. The PO did warn me there was an intermittent power steering fluid leak, but that it seems to stop if the car is driven regularly. Good reason to put some miles on! RJ; sounds like we are of the same mind! DBJoe; thanks for the recommendation. In my brief time reading posts on the topic I get the impression that the OEM plastic filter housing is a bit fragile and as I don't have the "special" tool to remove it, I can see the LNE adaptor is likely coming soon in my future. One thing I hope to do soon is post about things that have not gone wrong. It seems forums are always filled with stories about issues and we forget about all the times we didn't have any problems and just enjoyed the car. Also, I will take a couple of nicer photos soon. Cheers, James
  2. Hi All, I believe it is customary for new members to introduce themselves so here goes. I recently purchased a new to me '02 911 4S with the Tiptronic trans. I'm here to lurk, learn and hopefully contribute to others in the future. I'm a long time car hobby DIY'er but frankly hoping to do very little on this particular car other than drive it. I stretched to buy this car about 9 months ago and I'm fully aware there are significant financial risks with used Porsches. The opportunity came up and given current market conditions, if I hadn't jumped on it I did not think I would ever be able to afford one. I bought it in Canada but was not able to take delivery until just recently, due to Covid travel restrictions. It was originally a USA delivery car but shows 208,000 KMs (129,500 miles) on the odometer, so no spring chicken but it looks in very nice shape and everything works. The PO bought it used around 2018 but did not put much mileage on. He did put two new tires on and installed a new battery. Engine oil was changed 1500 KM(930 miles) ago (Liquimoly 5W40) , but that was in January 2019. I know the PO and this was just one of many similar cars in his collection. My goal is to drive it this Summer and hope nothing goes wrong. I will definitely change the oil in the Fall before I park it for the Winter, regardless of mileage. I will keep an eye on the two older tires as I I'm told they don't last too long on the 4S. Also, when I change the oil I might invest in the LNE spin on filter adapter and magnetic drain plug but I am uncertain about that. The car is stock and I prefer to keep it that way. Any opinions, for or against, the LNE adapter would be appreciated. I'm a bit of a Luddite so don't be offended if I am "offline" most of the time and don't respond to comments/questions. I will reply eventually. That's all I have for now and there is a break in the weather so now it's time to mow the lawn. :) Cheers! James
