  1. I think what you're talking about is the dreaded "sewing machine" whine that all 996's (normally aspirated) have. It's somewhat masked with a louder exhaust, and an intake kit (CAI or Fabspeed) creates a throatier sound to further help. John
  2. My car doesn't drip any oil; although it occasionally smokes for 1 second upon startup in the morning. I'm hoping that it diminishing with time. Thanks for the info! John :drive:
  3. I've owned a 2001 TT for six months now, and it now has 8400 miles. I've had to add a quart of oil every 1000 miles. Is this typical of these cars? The salesperson at Carlsen Porsche warned me about this as I was buying the car, but this rate surprises me. I know it's apples and oranges, but my 99 carrera never needed extra oil between changes.
