After I removed it, rebuilt it, cleaned it and had a key made, since the car did not come with a key, mine seems to work good although I’m curious how long it was made and if it had other problems over time like electrical issues. I found that I have enough room to turn it off if I open the door carefully. I’m thinking that it may have only been available for a short time before the next generation alarm (Immobilizer?) replaced it. My 1980 911 Targa did not have that alarm option so I like it on my 1984 Coupe even though I don’t use it much.

Thanks, I haven’t seen much online about them and the Porsche PET only shows this factory car alarm for 1986. I also haven’t seen anything on YouTube.
