  1. i've read Corey's generous right-up on the retrofit and have ordered the exact part numbers he listed. unfortunately two parts were not in stock in the US so they had to be ordered from germany - should be here by mid-March. actually, one dealership in CA had the exact 2 pieces in stock but each time i called, they said they'd go look for them later and call me back when they checked. after 4 days of calling and being told this, i finally gave up and just ordered them through sunset. i think i can do this myself but one of the local porsche techs has offered to help. i've paid him on the side to help me with several things(red seat belts, converting sport seats to full power) and saved mucho$$$ in lieu of paying dealership labor fees. i've also got the ROW M030 on order(won on eBay from the UK) and he said he'd help with that as well - he even said he'd do the allignment at the dealership after the service dept closed on saturday afternoon. pretty generous guy but i'll reward him as always about the CDC-4 installation. he wasn't sure if it could be done but i told him i'd check on it myself(i.e. renntech) he did mention that he'd prob have to connect everything in a series (PCM2 - amp - CDC - PCM2) instead of each thing connecting to the PCM2 individually. does this sound right??? i'm sure it will be clearly stated within the retrofit kit but just wanted to make sure. the tech is young and i remember being young, thinking i knew everything and never would admit that i might be wrong - if you catch my drift thanks as always Loren my donation is on its way - sorry it took so long
  2. Please post your radio related options codes (i.e. M490, M680, etc., etc.). If you are not sure then post all the option codes on your option tag (under the front hood). <{POST_SNAPBACK}> ok - here are all my options codes from my hood: CO2 X70 X71 X97 X98 226 411 437 438 446 537 680 but note i am also replacing my factory bose CDR-23 with the PCM2 so i would want to get the fiber optic module to work with that thanks!
  3. loren - this is exactly what i need!.... but can't figure out how to read it. pardon my ignorance but i need a little help. i currently have an '03 C2 with the Bose CDR-23 radio i am adding the PCM2 and removing the CRD-23 at the same time, i'd like to add the CDC-4 no telephone now - how do i read the chart that you posted? or could you just tell me what part numbers i need to order? i think it is 996.622.705.00 ??? thanks a ton!
  4. thanks Alex - i already have all the parts on order. some were not available(i.e. in stock) in the US so they had to be ordered from Germany. they should be here in about 2 wks i'll post how it goes but hopefully it will be as smooth as Corey's
  5. hey boys - about to add my PCM2 next week. My car is an '03 carrera coupe and the nav unit came from an '04 40th anniv. I do have the dreaded Bose system but am wondering if I can add a CD changer while I have everything torn apart. I remember you couldn't add a CD changer to the Bose system with just a CDR-23 but I was hoping that the PCM2 will allow me to fo it now? Any ideas/pointers/part numbers....????? thanks frank
  6. I am putting in a PCM2 into my car next week from a buddy's 40th Anniversary Ed. His car had a CD changer and I would like to add one to my "new" system since you can't listen to a CD and utilize the map or nav function at the same time. Is there a kit to add the CDC to my car - '03 carrera coupe with Bose and soon to be PCM II :) thanks for any points and/or costs/part numbers TIA
  7. OK - after much searching, I now have a set of brand new sport seats sitting in my garage(actually I just took them into my playroom). I am trying to take the seats apart but can't even figure out how to do that. I've removed a couple of screws from the side controller panel but there must be some more hidden there because that panel is not budging. This could be one of the more ingenious things I've ever done or one of the most stupid. Please hold all comments to yourself until I either succeed or concede. Anybody have any suggestions on how to disassemble these bad boys or a diagram? thanks frank
  8. Thanks a ton! That website looks great but I can't understand a lick of it..lol. I have an idea of what going on just by the pictures though :D I think I might buy that one that you sent me with the eBay.de link Is there any disadvantage to getting fiberglass rather than the real deal except for having to bake it before it is painted? Thanks again for the lead frank
  9. Is the fiberglass GT3 front bumper cheaper than the "factory" one? I have been looking for a GT3 (aerokit) front bumper for my 2003 coupe and the good deals are nearly imnpossible to find - so far the best is $1700 from Brandywine. I was hoping to find for $1000 or less. thanks for any info frank
  10. I could only find the entire seat, not just the top parts. Unfortunately I have a feeling that this has never been done before and someone is going to have to be the guinea pig. I don't even have a diagram or drawing of the seats and their connections unfortunately :(
  11. I posted in another forum but was directed here thinking someone here would know the answer....Loren??? I've gotten lazy and like my automatic seats but now I want the sport seats. Brandywine informed that sport seats are always manual but that he has heard of people using the bottom part of their auto seat and just swapping out the top parts, leaving you with automatic sport seats. Essentially taking the seat apart and transplanting the top halves. Anybody know anything about tearing the seats apart or can point me in the right direction? TIA frank (always modding)
