  1. Additional info, build date is 10/24/05 based on door VIN sticker.
  2. Hopefully, I can find help in this forum...my first post. The topic is old...about identifying the IMS bearing in my car, a 2006 Boxster Base, 2.7L, 5 speed . I've been looking throughout the I-net and info from my dealer about the correct Engine Type and IMS bearing in my car. I have seen contradictory engine types for the 2006 Boxster and without the proper engine type, it seems that I can't identify which IMS bearing is in my car. Per my dealer, my engine type is = M9625. I believe this to be a 986 engine, but I thought all 2006+ models had the 987 generation 1 engine. Comments please. My engine # = 61603676. Does this help in identifying the IMS? Is the dealer missing additional information on the engine#, like letters? MY Transmission serial # = 0005095
