they said it could be mice...?? but that they had to check it out.
How do I check if it is 14 volts to the battery?
If it is 14 volts then does that mean both charging circuit AND battery are good?
-

What should I check out first??
Battery has been replaced by me over a year ago when I originally bought it from an auction.
The airbag warning light has always been on.. I've never seen it go off.
Faulty fuse maybe? I tried checking the fuse box next to the clutch pedal.. I really couldn't find anything that dealt with the airbag.. anywhere else to check for fuses?
Voltage supply? Should I check for that still even with this new battery.. if so.. how do I check for the voltage supply?
Thanks!

Anyone!!??
Airbag light is on and my durametric won't clear it. I'm pretty sure one of your PST2 or PIWIS tools can clear the airbag light. Anyone in socal area have one of these tools that can help me out. I can stop by whenever... the sooner the better.. even today!

What is the fault code(s)?
I dont know they didnt tell me.
The codes that I read from my durametric are on my first post up top.. if that helps
-
If they looked at it with a PIWIS or PST2 then they saw the fault code. What is the fault code(s)?I'm so tired of getting mine reset when there's nothing wrong with the airbag or any other part of the system that this time I'm just going to let the light burn until the bulb expires.I went over to Hergesheimer and they used their big computer (PIWIS..?) to read the codes, airbag light was there...
since it wasnt the seatbelt error for the airbag they couldnt reset it for liability issues... although they could have with their tool.
With that said, someone is coming and checking my car out on Sunday to buy it and my durametric doesnt clear this airbag code!
Anyone know what I can do???
Anyone have one of those PIWIS or PST2 computers in southern california..
Burnout the bulb??
They said its some sensor or wiring that is probably in the trunk, but they have to do some searching to find out what's causing it. They basically couldve cleared the code but didnt want to for "liability" reasons.. they quoted me 300 bux to check it out and see what the problem is ....
What should I do.........

You could have a bad control module - since that is a code it gave you.
Where are you located - perhaps we can get further verification?
I'm in orange county, CA
How do I fix the control module??
or make sure that, it is actually the problem...

I tried resetting the airbag with the durametric tool that I just bought for my 2002 boxster S 6speed
However, it wouldn't reset the codes.
The codes that it gave me were
1 Airbag Warning Light
3 Supply Voltage
195 Control Module Faulty
What do all these mean? I thought I just had the seatbelt error so I bought the contact cleaner and was ready to use it :(

I call it a 911 but I guess it really isn't. I've never called it a Carrera before since I don't think most people know it by that name. I think the layman would be clueless of what I had if I said I had a 996. I tell those in the know that I have a C2 but those that don't know Porsche's wouldn't really know what that is.
What do you call your car when asked?
986 S
When I get my C2 I will probably say 911 or carrera
I never ever say Porsche.

Going from a convertible to a coupe (you don't specify but you do mention getting away from the plastic window)? Wouldn't you miss driving around with the top down? I have a '00 C2 cab and wouldn't want a coupe. I drive around with the top down 90% of the time. Plus, I have a hardtop for the winter. I do have to put up with the blurry plastic window though when it's raining or on cold mornings.
When I was buying a car, I was looking for a Boxster but decided to get a 996 instead because of the back seat is usable in a pinch and it's nice to drop groceries back there too. Plus, I agree that I really didn't want the "poor man's Porsche". ;)
Yep, thats mainly it: I don't like driving the poor man's Porsche, although it is a fantastic car and I would recommend it any day but plain and simple I would rather have the higher end model. Shallow but true. No flames please =)

more power
better looks
not the "poor man's" Porsche
finally would be able to own a top model of a car (had 3 bimmers none of which were an ///M)
I would be actually able to see whats going on when I look in the rear view mirror instead of looking through a small blurry plastic window
having fun with all the modifications I would do, the list could keep going but those are the basics for doing the switch.

I currently have a 02 boxster S with 61k miles on the clock
I'm planning on selling the car and going for a 99 996 with around 85k on the clock
I think I could pretty much break even. Should I do it!!?? What do you guys think?
$50 or a six pack for clearing my airbag light with your PIWIS or
in 986 Series (Boxster, Boxster S)

I'm in Laguna Niguel, but I'll be in SanDiego this weekend... do you have the PIWIS or PST2??
The codes on the Durametric say
1 Airbag Warning Light
3 Supply Voltage
195 Control Module Faulty
