  1. I was recently given the keys to an 09 C4S cab with PDK while my GT3 was being serviced. In the normal mode I was frustrated by the cars desire to go into 6th gear at absurdly low speeds. But in the sport mode the car was transformed and quite impressive. If I drove in traffic frequently or I needed to have the wife drive the 911 at times, I wouldn't hesitate to order PDK. It's that good. But I still prefer the satisfaction of shifting for myself. Rowing through the gears in a GT3 is a joy!If it was raw speed that counted I'd buy a GT-R (and try not to look at it too much). :D
  2. Yes. I take the 20" summer rubber off and run 18" snows (Conti) and the PSM does not intervene until you are quite a bit sideways. Porsche has decided that you would like the rear end to slide out before the computer intervenes and limits your fun :D . Quite a bit different than my friend's Avalanche where the traction control cuts in at the first hint of wheel slippage. I would like a winter option with earlier intervention, especially when my wife has the Cayenne with my son on board. Maybe in 2010 or 2011 when the new Cayenne debuts.
  3. My dealer is saying that the PSE system not factory installed is not covered by the new car warranty. Normally Porsche parts are covered for 2 years but they would not commit to the length of the warranty on the PSE if not installed with electronics and switching per factory instructions. Anyone else heard similar stories from their dealer?
  4. Anyone know where in the console the switch is mounted? Does the necessary wiring come with the center console switch or is the harness already present? My friendly local Porsche techy states that installation typically takes a full day plus. According to him, "Step one is remove the seat(s), step two is remove the center console, step three is remove the carpeting, step four is remove the rear panels, etc..."
  5. Why do you want to remove the ceramic rotor? Any problems on the street or track?
