  1. The exact same kind that came out....what does that matter.......sounds gets better as I drive, but still loud,,,possble plug fouled out ?????...I am going to change them tomorrow
  2. 1998 boxster...Changed battery and now sounds like holes drilled in muffler.....very loud when starting, idle off...runs fine,no power loss...sound gets a little better in 5th gear. There is a small vacuum leak in one fuel injector (will fix when cooler weather),never effected much. The loud muffer sound is from the driver side. Unhooked mass flow, same thing....help...car sounds likea 16y/o kids honda civic with the jacked up muffler that always wants to race.....
  3. I have it planned for 07/05/2010....Thanks Correct...o-ring does the whole left/ right bank come out at one time or just one injector at a time...is this easy to do...hate to start and take longer than I have that day....thanks You'll lift out one bank or side at a time. It's worth replacing both, upper and lower o-rings while in there. It has been some time since I replaced ours, but one side was particularly challenging to access(passenger maybe). Make sure you note or scribe the depth at which the o-ring and injector is set into the head. There is another ring slot that the seal can go on which might screw up the setting. Other then that, its fairly straight forward. The task took me the day, but I'm getting old. You'll be surprised how much better the car runs(and starts) afterwards. regards
  4. I have black door panels that have the texture to it. Over the years, they have dulled and have a build up...what is a good product to clean and make them look new again without buying new ones....Thanks
  5. Correct...o-ring does the whole left/ right bank come out at one time or just one injector at a time...is this easy to do...hate to start and take longer than I have that day....thanks
  6. How hard is this to do....can't seem to find anything on this
  7. Thanks Maurice...That is what I'm looking for...Pelican or dealer couldn't tell me.
  8. This is a very hard hose with only two ends with special locking clips on each end that is part of the hose. One end goes into the the Intermediate piece part number 99611021553 right where the throttle body bolts to. The other end goes into some type of canister. I was cleaning the throttle body and one of the locking pieces broke. No dealer or Pelican Parts people can figure the part number, I really hate to take hose off to get number, Any help will be greatly appreciated
  9. I broke one, it had to happen, The hose is fine, can I replace the plastic locking piece or do I have to but the entire $$ hose. pelicanparts has a part 99923053540, has anyone ordered this....ALso the Venturi hose says it is for 01- I have a 1998 Boxster, and yes I have the info enter for a 1998 Boxster. They are not showing 97-00
  10. Thanks for the answer....I figured it out....I just hate asking a question and getting replies that have nothing to do with the answer....and it was a simple question The driver's side sleeve has a vacuum line that runs from it (intake distributor) to the pressure regulator. The pressure regulator is located on the fuel ring pipe that provides fuel to each of your 6 injector valves. The pressure regulator is near the air box where you change your air filter. It is right before the fuel return line. The pressure regulator can be found in section 24-10 of the Bentley Manual. The manual is less than $100 and a good investment. Rembember you get more bees with honey that you do with vinegar.
  11. The black rubber boot...center of pic.....check valve on one side.....does a vacuum line hook to the other hole on the driver's side....PLEASE INGORE THE YELLOW ARROW AND DON'T POST ASKING IF I'M TAKING ABOUT THE PART THAT THE YELLOW ARROW IS POINTING TO...I AM NOT TALKING ABOUT THAT PART, THAT WILL BE THE THROTTLE BODY...I can't believe how hard it is to get an answer here to a simple question
  12. You have the rubber boot....one side(passager side) the check valve goes...on the other side(driver side) is another hole.....does a vacuum line go in that hole or is it left empty
  13. I have seen that and read for 2 days....the question I need answered and no other is....drum roll please......I know that the black side of the valve goes in the right side of the rubber sleeve or plumens as you might call it and the white side goes to the Y connector. Is there a line the goes into the left side and if it does, where does the other end hook to.......Also, looking at the pic above, is it safe to say that there are only 4 vacuum lines in the car, the 3 off the tee and the single line....A simple answer would be nice since New Years Eve day is the only day I have to fix this
  14. Since I can't get a straight answer on the prior post, I will go this route...I'm putting in new vacuum lines in my 1998 Boxster, Looking at the car from the back end, I know that the black side of the valve goes in the right side of the rubber sleeve or plumens as you might call it and the white side goes to the Y connector. Is there a line the goes into the left side and if it does, where does the other end hook to. Thanks
  15. Won't stay running long enough for code to come on or drive to autozone...will it give a code with the MAF unplugged that I'm looking for...that's the only way I can drive it
  16. Let's try this again....cleaned the throttle body, couldn't get the Idle speed motor off (did nothing with that), put back together, runs like crap, use throttle body cleaner, doesn't want to stay running as it idles...could possible the idle speed controller that I didn't pull off have anything to do with this issue, car was running fine before, just off a bit on the idle. And should the idle speed control just pull straight off, didn't seem to want to pull off
  17. a yellow arrow pointing to it... as I was tring to pull this off, it seem to make the butterfly move, now with the MAF unplugged, the car wants to shut off at idle. It has to something simple Can you be more specific as to the parts that you are describing. Maybe the PET (page 67 in particular) can be of help here. http://login.dealerskins.com/SiteSpecific/...USA_KATALOG.PDF JP
  18. What about this, I had to think what all happened...The idle control valve wouldn't come off the throttle body,I never removed it or cleaned inside of it. I removed the 2 screws and it wouldn't release and I didn't want to force it, if I pull on it, should it just release or do I have to put the butterfly in a certain position, and I also didn't spray any cleaner in the other electricial part that had the green gasket, I will try that and see what happens. I can remove everything in 15 minutes after doing it twice....Does not cleaning the idle control valve sound like the issue. I hate to pay a shop to fix this because I know it has to be something simple and they will charge who knows how much.
  19. It is 1 week old, just put it in 1 week ago, was runnig fine before....don't think that is it... cleaned MAF just to see and still the same...help...running without MAF, how long can I run without it and the smoke stopped
  20. Clean the throttle body, wasn't running bad. Just figured it was time, put back together and won't stay running. Just put in a new MAF 1 month ago. Unplug the MF and runs fine. Took apart, redid and the same thing...running like crap. Also, alot of white smoke for the tail pipe. AsI stated, it was running pretty good before the throttle cleaning....and the white smoke scares me, hate to drive it and blow the engine...any help on x-mas eve,,,,Oh I did unhhok the battery to reset everything, same results....thanks
  21. If it looks brand new, let me know what you want for it....thanks all...great site, I have learned alot
  22. This may be the wrong place but I didn't think alot of people would look at part number request,,,,Ineed a new amber trim with washer and can't seem to find it online anywhere, don't want ebay listing, just want the one corner and want a new one, No dealer is close to me.
