  1. The last info I have for Will at Willwood - the maker of the hitches and accessories - is dustyn@calaveras.k12.ca.us or 209-772-3399. I've got one of his hitches and bike rack attachement on my Boxster for the past 3 years. Love it!. --- Tom
  2. Anyone know if it's possible to tap off the digital speedo in order to mount a digital speed readout mounted on top of the dashboard? I'd like to get the speed on an LED panel in the frame of my in-car video on the track. --- Tom
  3. I found a solution on the Net a couple of years ago and it's worked perfectly for well over 60K miles. Roll up a mouse pad and slip it behind the seat insert. If you're not aware, if you grip the leather portion of the seat back (where your back rests) and pull gently forward, you'll find that this section is attached at the top and bottom only, You can then slip a rolled up mouse pad, towel, or other piece of cut-to-order foam at the correct location. Works like a champ. (And you sure can't beat the price!). --- Tom
  4. Is the "DIY guide" from Loren the same as the Aerokit TSB? Or is it something different? If it's something other than the TSB text, I'd sure appreciate a copy as I'm about to undertake this procedure with the newer skirts (double-stick tape) on my Boxster. --- Tom
  5. Does anyone have a copy of the TSB that describes how to fix a broken hinge on the oddments tray cover? I thought I had a copy in .PDF format, but can't locate it now. TIA. --- Tom
  6. For '99 Boxster: Would like Porsche p/n's for the Porsche Factory Sport Exhaust and the required (I believe) adapter kit for a 2.5. Also, anyone have the p/n for the 996 dash-mounted manual override switch kit that allows you to manually open/close the bypass valves on the sport exhaust? I believe this works on the 986 kit also. Anyone know for sure? --- Tom
  7. "...it is a pain only because you have to remove hoses in the engine compartment and the clamps are hard to get to and they are those spring type clamps that are a pain to compress and slide back. You also have to deal with the oil filler tube and tube for the dipstick. So removing the plastic tank itself from the trunk is not hard, but getting everything disconnected from the backside of tank from the engine compartment takes some time." I was afraid of that. I tried to take out the tank until I realized that the hoses probably had to be released from inside the engine compartment. A real pain to get at. I've got the tech manuals on CD so the drain & bleed procedure is available. Where on ebay did you see those tanks, Jeff? I requested price and availability from Sunset and was told that the part (new # 996-106-147-07) isn't currently available to them in the U.S. It'll take 2-4 weeks from Germany.
  8. It's a '99 with the original tank. I recently replaced the cap with a new one (996-106-447-01). --- Tom
  9. Has anyone replaced the coolant reservoir in the rear trunk themselves? Can anyone provide the procedure? How do you get the reservoir out: from the trunk? from the engine compartment? from the top? bottom? I've got a leak and am out of warranty. TIA. --- Tom
