  1. Hello, I recently changed my head unit. Now, the car's horn sounds when I lock the doors. I understand that I need to ground the radio contact. In this case, could someone please tell me what exactly I have to do. Tried searching for it but nothing came up. Thanks.
  2. Hello, I understand that Porsche offers aluminum packages from the factory. Is it true that these parts are simply painted with artic silver paint or something else? Thank you!
  3. Hello, I got a quick question here. Are these sideskirts the "flared rocker panels - X76?" http://www.carnewal-europe.com/cpx_p96062.htm Thank you!
  4. Hello, I would like to retrofit the 40th Anniversary Bumper (turbo-style) bumper to my 2002 Carrera. Could you please list all the parts (such as ducts, trims, etc) that I need. Thank you!
  5. Thanks Scouser. I have scheduled an appointment with a Porsche rep.
  6. Thanks for the info. Do you think the problem resides within the flywheel since it is new? Also, I've heard that a clutch will make noise if the springs on the clutch is defected. Is that true?
  7. Hey Tool Pants, Thanks very much for your insight. Do you think that my clutch is defected? I know they replaced the flywheel when they replaced the engine for me (stated on invoice). Do you think that the noise might go away if I change it to a Sachs Level 1 clutch? I am thinking that my clutch might be defected. BTW, I have just changed the transmission oil last week and the rattling noise is slightly softer. Thanks.
  8. umm... the funny thing is that when I step on the clutch pedal, the rattling sound goes away... any clues? thx..
  9. Hello, Two months ago, my transmission made a rattling noise. The dealer found out that the throw out bearing guide was broken so they replaced it (along with the throw out bearing). At the same time, they found the RMS problem and replaced the engine and flywheel. However, the transmission is still making a rattling noise but it is not as loud as before. It is loud enough to be annoying especially with the AC and radio off. The noise is NOT present when the car is cool. The noise would get louder as you drive the car for a longer period of time. I went to two different dealerships and they told me that this is normal. Does anyone know what is going on here? Any tips? Thanks in advance!
  10. I recently had my engine replaced under warranty due to the RMS issue. The part number is 996-100-996-VX and the description reads “3.6L 04- Carrera MA.” Is this a 2004 engine? What is the likelihood of this engine failing? Thanks.
  11. List price is around CAD$750 from my local dealer.
  12. Hi, Can anyone confirm if 000 044 700 26 is the short shifter for the 996? Thanks.
  13. Hi, I have a 02 Carrera (6-speed) coupe and I would like to retrofit the 996 GT3 adjustable sway bars. Does anyone have the part numbers for the bars (including the part numbers for bushings, etc.). Thank you!
  14. Hi, Does anyone have the part number for the 996 engine protection plate? Any other parts required for installation? Thanks.
  15. Hi, Does anyone have the part number of the Protective Plate for the 3.6l? Thanks.
  16. Hello, I was wondering if it is possible to buy silver guage rings for the 996 cluster? Is it available from the dealership as an OEM part (without having to buy the whole cluster)? If not, please let me know where I can get them. Thank you.
