  1. At what range of mileage does the MAF usually fail? During the last couple of weeks my 2000 Boxster S started to "hesitate" (not sure of the correct term to describe it) at around 1500-2000rpm, even when the engine has warmed up. I'm not sure if there are any changes at high rpms as I don't get much chance to use that rev range in traffic which is where I spend most of the time with the car. So after doing a bit of reading on here I assume it must be the MAF, either dirty or "failed"?

Bought the car at 38k miles, it has 45k miles on clock now and the last service was 2k miles ago. I have never cleaned the MAF before.

Does this sound like a MAF problem? Are there anything else I should look at?

Also what is a fair price for a new MAF?

    Appreciate any help.

^^^Forgot to mention, car just had a new battery replacement 3 weeks ago.

  2. The sim card slot won't slide back in place when pushed, I think it needs to be replaced. Is't a DIY job? If so, what part/s do I need to get? And what's the replacing procedure?

    Thank you for any help.

    Did you try a Search?

Replacing the Sim card tray in a PCM2

Thanks for link. Sorry I tried search but was obviously not very good at it. Please delete this thread mods.

  3. Is there such a thing as a no drone aftermarket muffler?

If so, please advice where I can source one?

Also, for anyone has experience with one of those ebay modified factory Boxster mufflers, how loud are they? And are there any cabin drones between 2500-3000rpm?

Here is a link to the aforementioned ebay modified factory muffler: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Porsche-Boxster-986...les_CarParts_SM

    Thanks for any inputs.

  4. After replacing the car battery, the remote door lock does not work anymore. When tried to manually lock with the key, it only locks the driver's side door. But it does lock with the central locking button from inside the car. What would be the problem do you think? Thanks for any suggestions.

By the way, the car has a Giac flash and has cat bypass pipes. It's an Australian model so only had one pair of cats instead two (like the US models), when I first replaced these cats the engine warning light did not come on and it has been fine ever since. Don't know if this info changes anything.

    Appreciate any help guys.

  5. Hi all,i am from Singapore and i am driving a CTT.I had DMS flown in to tune it when my car when stock with only BMC air filter. It had superb increase in power and torque. However after that i ordered the 2nd cat. bypass and also full exhaust system from Milltek to be fitted on my car.The finish of Milltek's products are very nice. But after fitting them up,i can feel that on the lower end the car is much more sluggish then w/o the exhaust system as there are little back pressure and thus results on losing low end toque,i am considering to dismantle the 2nd cat and have the orig one fitted back or i will consider to have after market sports cat fitted /weld up onto the cat bypass..but it will be very messy and ugly. Therefore my conclusion for a CTT is that have the ECU remapped by renowned tuners for power increase, and have the mufflers replce for better music to the ears and do not even think of replaceing the 2nd cat. unless u are goping to coupled them with a full engine conversion which means replacing the turbos ,intercoolers etc if not never never touch them,i had made that mistake and $600 poorer not forgetting all the hassles .....

Really u dun need to dyno the car to know that u have lost power, put yr right feet on the pedal and u will notice,it is that obvious....

Thanks for sharing that. Saved me from spending $600 on lossing torque.

  6. I need to space out the front I think,,,I'll know for sure in a couple days.I'm gonna try to throw them on next few days.

    I'll post some pix then!

Sweet wheels man  Wish I had 18x11 at the rear (18x9 with 265s now) first thing I would do is throw on a set of 285s, would look tough from the back but I understand your hesitation.

Post some shots of your car when its done :D
