  1. Hi Guys, First off I'm a newbie to the forum and Porsche ownership in general. The reason for this thread is that I'm after buying a trackday toy but have a ceiling to my budget (dont we all). I can't go over £30k which kind of leaves me out of the running for a UK rhd GT3, however as per the title of this thread I can afford a 1 or 2 owner year 2000 GT3 with FSH from Germany as they go for a little as £27k and upwards. I often travel to Germany on business and have always been amazed at the price difference for a Porsche over there compared to what we have to pay here in the UK. I was wondering a couple of things: Has anyone here bought and imported a 2nd hand GT3 from the continent ? also does anyone know if a Porsche main dealer (UK or other) offer a check over service for any potential buyer of a 2nd hand Porsche ? Lastly if anyone has any knowledge/thoughts/experiences of what I'm proposing to do I'd appreciate your comments - good or bad. Cheers, Steve
  2. Hi Guys, thanks for the reply. The car is in the UK, local to me. I'll view the car this week and be sure to write down the VIN and options codes under the hood. Cheers, Steve
  3. Hi, i'm very interested in a 996 i've seen for sale. Trouble is I can't quite figure out the spec, it's just too unusual for me to think it's legit. Ok, the car is a 1999 white 996 with factory fitted options listed as: Uprated quaife LSD and gearbox, Uprated Suspension (either Turbo or GT3 - i havent seen the car yet to find out which), Uprated brakes (again either Turbo ir GT3) and Cup ECU. The car certainly sits a lot lower than any other 996 I've seen (!). Obviously I know that any of these mods could have been done aftermarket but the owner swears these were all fitted at the factory. Is this possible and has anyone else seen a 996 with any of these options ? Lastly the car also has a GT3 bodykit along with a huge carbon GT3RS rear spoiler. It has colour coded white seat backs and white stitching to the seats, cowling and steering wheel. It also has a lot of carbon fibre trim. I know these bits where available from the factory it's just the chassis, engine upgrades i'm dubious about. Any help much appreciated. cheers, steve
