  1. Does this method work to drain all or most of the coolant out for flushing? Just lifting the front end and draining from engine drain plug...letting gravity do its work.. Advice. I am about to tackle this maintenance work...equipt with my uview. Thanks...
  2. Hi Guys.... Regarding the Uview tool.... does that allow you to suck out all the coolant out of the 996s system? If not, does anyone have a diagram of all the drain points of the car. I'm aware of the the enginedrain bolt and a few hoses in the rear... Basically, does the uview tool suck out all the coolant which will be easier and less chances of breaking hoses and clamps....possibly causing a leak afterwards? Thanks
  3. Thanks all! I just ordered the FZ22 online for <$30.00. I wasn't aware that the Uview pressurizes the system. I though they were more of a vacuum type. I needed a tool that pressurizes the system.
  4. Great! I searched for that tool and they only sell it as a kit. You know any places that sells that by itself? Also, do you know if that adapter will fit the stant pressure tool? Uview tool. Great tool but I need a tool that will pressurize the cooling system. Thanks
  5. Hi Fellows, Anyone here know of a tool to pressurize the cooling system of the 996s. I have a Stant pressure checker, but do not have a the adapter for the 996s. They do list an adapter in their website, but when I inquired about it they said that it is not for the 996. On there description it show fitment up to 1998 Porsches. I thought the Boxster uses the same radiator caps as the 996s??? The thread of their adapter measures.... M 48 x 3..... Will this fit our 996? http://www.stant.com/brochure.cfm?brochure...location_id=183 Thanks.
  6. I'm in the Los Angeles, CA area...if you are near by, I can reset it for you...
  7. I have used fatmat that I purchased on ebay... type in fatmat. It makes a world of difference. Solid thug sound when you close the door and much more quiter while driving.... the best part is a lot cheaper than dynamats.
  8. I noticed that they have 2 different model Uview... model number 550500 and 550000. Do they work the same? Is one better than the other? I like the fact that the 550000 comes in a molded case... but is the 550500 and updated version, therefore better? decisions decisions??? What do you guys recommend? Thanks
  9. If you mean the rotors....don't paint them. If you mean the calipers.... it's an easy diy weekend job... Good luck.
  10. Also, put some fuel injector cleaner in your fuel tank... I use Techron fuel injector cleaner at every oil change.
  11. I bought my aluminum jack at Costco. Made by Arcan 3.0 ton... $150.00. No problems.
  12. Stay with the 18" rims and tires. Try the Yoko A048s. I would pick up an extra set of rims so you can change them around from your daily rims and tires to track rims and tires.
  13. Durametric... no problem here. In fact, if you are local to Los Angeles...you can try mine out.
  14. With that kinda stalling... I am guessing you have a CEL. If you do, get it read and post it.
  15. I wasn't aware that the 996 came with 17 inch rims? As for the vibration in high speed.. I'm guessing unbalanced tires. Good Luck
  16. That's me and glad to help... pm me and we can meet... I'm in Los Angeles.
  17. Hi Renntechies... Anybody have any CEL or airbag light? I have the Durametric for those who need help. I am in Los Angeles, CA. Let me know and we can meet somewhere...Don't pay the dealer insane amount of money to clear and read your CEL and airbag....I'll do it for free :D...
  18. I was refering to his no start problem. If he can start the car, the Durametric can read his real time voltage reading. His question was, if I read it correctly was can Durametric diagnose his no start issue...I guess he can if he gets it started and read the voltage reading.... I'm guessing alternator??? *** also check your battery cable connection.. make sure it is tight.
  19. I have the Durametric if you need it..but you do not have a CEL..... Los Angeles.
  20. unless you have the CEL.. Durametric is useless.
  21. With all that issues, you should have a check engine light go on.... Do you?
