  1. Good stuff, that will help thanks! Guess I just have to start digging around in there...
  2. For anyone who cares, here is the end result of the first round of rerouting/replacing. Works great! And here's what was removed :D
  3. Does anyone (hint hint, cough Loren cough) have an extensive vacuum line diagram for the 996TT? I rerouted most of the lines for the BOV and solenoid, but now I have to replace all of the other lines, including those that go to the turbos (I think I have a bad one somewhere because I'm getting wild boost spikes). It's tight in there, and my diagrams suck. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!
  4. LIFESAVER Loren! :notworthy: Man, it's TIGHT to get in there to change all those lines out. Looks like my hunch was correct that I don't need that solenoid connected to the BOV. Now time to get rid of the secondary air injection and other assorted junk... Thanks again
  5. Loren, I think I need your help on this one! :help: I have a 2003 996TT. I received some new new silicone pipes matched to my IC hoses in order to reposition my AP BOV among other things. Got rid of all the old rubber garbage in there (F-pipe as well as the intake return piece). Worked out great and I'll post pics later. Along the way though, I ripped out a solenoid (the one attached to the old BOVs) and ended up with a few vaccum connections that are now more or less unused. I looked through my rubbish online service manual, but I don't have a map of where all these connections go to/from, or what the solenoid is for. I connected the new BOV to a boost/vaccum source, so I know I'm ok there, but I took out the rigid pipe that snakes under the Y-pipe as well and reconnected that port to a spare source on the other side of the engine. I think the rigid black vaccum pipe that was routed under the Y-pipe to the intake was for the secondary air injection, but I'm not sure. Basically I rerouted all of these spare lines to connect to each other so that now I have no leaks, but I'd like to better know what I have bypassed. The car seems to run fine, but if anyone could hook me up with a better diagram I'd really appreciate it. I'd like to continue replacing the hose that's left with some new silicone lines I have anyway. Thanks in advance
  6. You have to snap out the infrared sensor covers. There are torx screws behind there. Once they're out it should come right off.
  7. Discobay Joe Did you have any luck with this? When I tried to do it last night, I found that the HVAC control was too big for the top slot in the lower console (where the CD holder was). Looking for a solution to this before I take my Dremel to the whole thing... Thanks
  8. LSU1981 I'm trying to do the same thing - relocating the climate control to the space where the CD holder is/was (right below the Sat Nav in the uppermost space on the lower console)? Not the lowermost position - my car already came with that done. I have an 03 MY, so it might be different. I need to do this to make more space to mount my radar/camera detector unit (need to stuff some of it right behind the batwing), and it seems that it just doesn't fit in the top spot (the white plastic part of the HVAC controls is too big for the slot). Is there a different center console part number with slots so this can be done, or do I have to take my Dremel to the whole thing? Do you have any pics of your install? Many thanks!
