  1. I used the same wiring that comes with the car, discarted the HAES amp and connector (cut the wires). Did have to extend/splice the wires, the one that were comming out from the amp connector, to reach where the amp is now though. Used the factory wires for the speakers (extended/spliced) as well. Only added the tweeter wiring. Used the pinout diagram in order to kanow what wire belonged to what speaker. Think I sent you the wiring diagram for the amp pinout. I have an after market HU, Pioneer, a self powered Bazooka subwoofer enclosure. Disconnected the door speakers. Now I have the front (dash), rear and the subwoofer, only have a 4 channel amp. What a difference.
  2. Finally installed a Hollywood Sound Labs Amp and MB Quart speakers. Had to modify the OEM speakers to use them as mount for the new ones. The pics are self explanatory. What a difference!
  3. Thnaks for your reply but I connected an after market amp (Hollywood Sound Labs) and the door speakers only reproduced the low frequencies and after checking the wiring diagram there is what looks like a resistor or capacitor (ckeck the synbol inside the red circle) which leads me to believe it is what cuts the mid and high frequencies to the door subwoofer. I was wondering if those resistors or capacitors are inside the door or somwhere else.
  4. Hi Guys: Wanted to use the factory door speakers as regular speakers, not as subwoofers, connected the speakers to my amp but they only reproduce very low frequecies. Noticed that in the wiring diagram there are what it looks like capacitors in order to cut the high frequencies (in the red circle) also noticed the wires goes though the "WL Door" (in the red rectangular and same for the left and right side). Is the "WL Door" some sort of a wall? Since the diagram shows the "capacitor" before the "WL Door" are these inside the speaker enclosure, inside the door or somewhere before the door? 5. Just change the tires on my truck and the shop asked me if I wanted to fill the tires with nitrogen. They claim this is the latest technology and that the tires won't lose air presure. In the event the "air" pressure goes down it can be compensated with regular air. $35.00 for life. Has anybody heard of this?
  6. Gustavo: I'm not on the computer with the diagram I sent as PM. WIll try to do it tomorrow.
  7. Guys, did an FCC ID search in the web a it is a LoJack. Thanks for your suggestions.
  8. Hi Guys: I'm in the process of installing an amplifier on my MY99 Carrera C2 Coupe and found this box. There is a cable, it seems to be an RF cable, that goes from the box with the FCC ID number all the way to the front of the car where the latch is; also the grey box is connected to the box with the FCC ID number and also connects to the battery positive side.Does anybody could tell me that this is?
  9. rboutin: Notice that the diagram shows Plug I with 18 pins and Plug II with 20 pins. The black plug/connector (smaller) has 18 pins and the blue/natural/brown/green, depending if cabrio or coupe, etc. has 20 pins (bigger). The pinout and wire color codes are on the same big rectangular thas says "Amplifier 996". The top is for Plug I (small black) and the bottom is for Plug II the big one. Hope this helps.

  13. Hi Guys. Any feedback on Classic Auto Insurance? It is for my MY1999 Carrera 911. Thanks
  14. Hi Guys: Did a search looking for the positive and negative battery wire gauge but all results are in refference to voltage, oil, temperature, gas, etc. gauges. Could someone tell me the battery's positive and negative cable gauge? Want to install an amplifier and would like to use a battery terminal where I can connect the car's positive wire and the amp wire, same on the negative side. Thanks
