  1. I broke it by having to cut it out after the previous owner had used sealant - a lot of it - to seal it back up after he had installed the previous stereo!!
  2. Hi Help please!!! Im in the process of fitting a new stereo - the previous unit ran from the centre consol to the amp in the luggage area at the front....whilst removing the old wires I have broken the grommet that seemed to be sealed with silicone in the firewall behind the battery. I need to keep the amp wires in place and so can't get another rubber grommet - how can I best seal up that hole - Im worried about water getting in - does anyone know of a hard setting putty that i could mould around the wires and seal up the gap - was going to use my daughters pay-doh - but not sure that will work!!
  3. Can anyone mail me the TSB that deals with routing wires through the engine compartment to the cabin - would like to install a rear reversing camera. I think that the PSE TSB deals with this,.....but any help gratefully received many thanks Alex
  4. Try the site mods4cars. John Have sent you a message - I have a RemoteTop to sell - as Im in the UK, I dont really need it as my remote operates the top anyway! Doh!!
  5. I've actually found a better picture form an older thread to show the non performing flap - as usual grateful for advice! Alex
  6. thnaks for that - but I thionk that's a different flap - I think so because I can reach the whole flap from the outside of the car - I think the flap you mention is much bigger and covers a bigger "hole"!!
  7. I have tried to attach a picture but need to explain I think... There is a flap on each side of the cab top behind the rear windows right on the edge - that should raise itself when the hood is open. It's about 6 inches long and quite thin. On my 1999 cab, one of these is working, but the other one seems to be getting stuck - when I looked at it with the hood half open it would appear that a small hook shoudl go through two "guide posts" which helps it go into the correct position. Does anyone know how to remedy this - it looks the same as the one that is working - nothing seems broken or out of place on it.....or am I making no sense at all??? many thanks Alex
  8. I have seen a new centre console on Fleabay - part number is 996 552 231 12 from a 2003 C2. Will it fit in my 1999 C4 Cab???? Grateful for the usual swift and always reliable advice!!!! thanks Alex Pls ignore this!!!!! Have just seen the answer in a post earlier today!!!!!Sorry to waster your time!!>...........
  9. wow - thanks Loren that was fast - I'm only askign again as the Ebay description does say it specifically for a C2 - does my 1999 C4 have egas and is this the right part - was planning to fit myself - and have seen your simple insructions...just one final check - apologies if you have to repeat yourself - Im still very new to a) Prosche B) doign DIY maintenance (but forced to do it due to cost of maintenance of the car!!)
  10. think my MAF may be on the way out - have found one on EBAY as follows Porsche part number is: 996 606 12400 Bosch part number is: 0280218009 I have a 1999 C4 Cab - will this part fit???? thanks Alex
  11. Apologies for another post but......I plan to move my CC unit from the highest (under the central air vents) position to the lowest (above the bat-wing) on my 1999 C4. In its place I need to put something - was thinking about a storage box, a CD holder or a cup holder- can anyone advise of parts needed - I have looked at the trim piece around the existing CC unit and it curves upwards a little with a box in the middle where the CC slots in. Can anyone tell me what options there are - Ive found tons of advice on moving the CC panel - but little in the way of filling the gap!!
  12. Hi - can someone advise please.....It got quite cokld here in the UK and my C4cab (1999) seems to be sqeaking and rattling from the seals around the doors. It not especially loud nut quite annoying. Are the seals "drying out" and what is the best way to lubricate them. I tried using silcone grease on a previous car seals but all that seemed ot do was smear the windows with grease which took hours to clean off! The problems have got worse since the weather turned colder.....If I wind down the windows the noises stop - but when I put the windows up again - they creak and sqeak from the seals after 2 minutes. thanks for any advice Alex
