    Granted my 06 Boxster only has 4,000 miles so far, and I've only had her since January. But the dealership specifically said that you don't do the first oil change till 20,000 or two years. While I'll agree that seems a little odd, that is what all the books say too. White987S, why do you say not to wait till 20,000? (sorry if I'm hi-jacking this thread)

    Suneet....have you gotten the Avic D3 yet? If so, can you post some pics of the final install? I'm thinking about throwing one into my car. I really want to be able to listen to my Ipod in my car.

    Well, I've been on this site for a while now getting info and advice from all of the post. And yesterday, I finally got to pick up my car. (it just so happened that yesterday was also the coldest day up here in the NE for the past two years!!! 26 for the high!!) It is an '06 987 Boxster, black all the way around, Bose, Xenon's, TPMS, Auto AC, and windstop. I'm really loving this car, and I can't wait for spring to come so I can start putting the top down. But anyway, here are some pics. It's just another black Boxster, but it's mine. Actually this pic has the two loves of my life in it, the black one in front, and the grey one behind it.

    Just wanted to bump this up to the top......anyone tried the Scosche unit??? The stealership that I'm getting my Boxster from said that they can do an in-line fm transmitter instillation for me for a cool $799. I'm gonna hold out for a bit and see what else is out there for cheaper.

    I have an 04 Audi A4 that came with Conti's as standard equipment. The tread life was awful, only about 16,000 before they were bald. I switched to Yokohama Avid H4S's (high performance all season) Car rode better, handled just as well as the summer tires, and I'm sitting about about 45,000 miles now on the car, and the Yokohamam's still have at least another 5K miles left in them. Best part is, is that they are relatively cheap. For my 06 Boxster, original equipment is the Michelin PS2, but when those are done, I'll probably be checking out the Yokohama Advan Sport.     yeah, I did, but they said that there were already taking a loss on this vehicle, so they weren't going to give me anything else. I can live with the 17's though, they're growing on me. And replacing the tires will be cheaper too!

    Well. slight change of plans. I'm now getting a black/black/black Boxster, only has the 17's, but I've upgraded to auto climate control, TPSM, and a windstop in addition to the Bose, Xenon's, heated/power seats, and rain sensing wipers. Still for the same price though. Anyone know if you can upgrade to larger wheels and still keep the TPSM that comes with the car? I think it's actually a better car for the money, just wish it had the Boxster S wheels.

    Hello all. Just bought a new 2006 Boxster (2.7). It is seal grey, with a grey top and grey leather. It a 5 speed, has Bose, heated seats, power seats, Xenon lights, self-dim mirrors/rain sensor, and Boxster S 18" wheels. It stickered for about $53K, and I'm drivin away for $44K. Is that a pretty good deal? I'm having second thoughts about buying another new car, because I swore the next one needed to be at least slightly used. (this is an 06 that is still on the lot with 15 miles). Secondly, I'll be picking the car up in about a week and half. What do I need to do when picking it up? Anything to look for, anything specific to ask? What should I expectf from the dealer? And lastly, (this will probably cause some debate), what are your recommendations for breaking in the engine? I've heard "don't go above 4,000 rpm for the first 1000 miles", and I've also heard to "drive it like you stole it" right off the bat. Thanks in advance for the info and advice!
