  1. ok, just looked for a date on the battery, no luck, so should I bring it to a Pep boys and have them check the voltage? How do I check the ignition switch?
  2. Loren, how do I check? The volts on the battery is right at the 12 mark before I start the car, I have no problems with starting the car... its when its moving that the lights came on
  3. Hi, i have a 1999 996 C4 with 70K miles on it. I was driving it today and the following idiot lights came on. Battery PSM Triangle with ! in it Brake light Then the battery meter went above 16 volts and the radio and air conditioning stopped working.... As I was on the highway when this happened, I drive to the nearest exit. Once I stopped all the lights disappeared and everything was fine. What should I do, is this a fuse or a lose connection issue? Please, if this happened to you, let me know. Thanks in advance.
  4. i just switched the relays... and its the resistors that needs changing.... I am off to find a replacement. Thanks for everyone for your help.
  5. Thanks 1999porsche911, I did your fan mod this weekend and I know where the relays are. I will switch them to see if that is the problem first. If its not, i am going to switch the resistors to see if they are the cause. do you know if the car really needs the low fans?
  6. wow, the part is 90 dollars from Pelican.... I was thinking it would be cheaper.... Another question, is it ok to drive the car without the low speed fan? will it hurt the car? The high speed fans work so do i have to fix this?
  7. Thank you all!!! i am going to try and do this one myself. Richard, what do you mean by removing the front PU? Where is this resistor located?
  8. Hi, So my low speed fan does not work but high speed does on my drivers side. My passenger side works on both speeds. From the forums, I believe its the ballast resistor. I want to swap the ballast resistor to see if that is the problem. I know its in the wheel well , but how do you remove it? Also, what is the part number of the ballast resistor? I tried searching on Pelican and found nothing. Thanks,
  9. Hi, Temp been getting higher than usual. My passenger radiator fan is on but my driver's side is off when parked and the AC is on. Do I have a broken fan? What do i need to do to fix this?
  10. the tire sizes are ... 245/35-19 front and 275/30-19 rears.... Thanks for the advise....
  11. Forgot to mention, I also painted the calipers red...by following everyones instructions....thanks...
  12. I believe that was a factory option, not really sure as it was there when i brought it... the dealer told me its a 4 piece body kit...
  13. Hi all, I just got my 19s installed. Had a body shop paint the Lips to match the body color. Fronts needed spacers but other wise, they fit great. Let me know what you think. The tire guy filled it up with 32 front and 35 rear (pressure wise), is this ok? Should i be around the 40 PSI in the rear? I live in orlando, FL where it gets hot.... Thanks
  14. Hi, one of my fog lights bulb went out. I went to the manual and it list H3, 55W. What should I put in there, (thinking about switching to a white or yellow bulb)? Read that some of them melt the headlight? What wattage should I get to avoid a meltdown? Thanks a bunch.
  15. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Wheels-Tire...sspagenameZWDVW would these fit? is BSA a good brand?
  16. Hi all, I am thinking about pulling the trigger on a set of wheels. They are 19x8.5 et52 front and 19x10 et52 rear. Hubcentric fit. Any issues with this setup? what is the thickest tire I can put on these wheels without rubbing/fitment issues? (Car is a 1999 996 C4, stock suspension) I found them on ebay, anyone dealt with eurotechwheels? Thanks.
  17. Loren, The AMG wheels are 19s. I have been searching online and the bolt pattern is different? Have you put your amg wheels on your 996? I believe the offset on the wheels are smaller than the (50/55 front, and 55/rears). I think the offsets are somewhere around 30....would it still work? (would spacers work?) Thanks.
  18. Hi, My friend has a set of wheels off an AMG E55. I was wondering if this would fit a 996 C4? Would there be any issues?
  19. Help anyone. I have a 1999 C4. I was doing my 60,000 mile tune up and was changing the Fuel Filter. I accidently broke the adapter from the fuel line hose ( the one from the car to the fuel filter). Does anyone know if there is a fix to this? Or does any one know what part number the fuel line is? Thanks for you help, i am stranded without my car.... As a FYI, never twist the fuel line with the filter, that is how it broke....
  20. Thanks, i got the sensor off, but the trim is stuck... guess i just need to pull harder...
  21. Thanks Loren, How many clips are there? I got the middle clip off but the side (toward the infra red censor) is stuck. I want to be extra careful as to not break anything else....
  22. All, Anyone how to remove the Defrost trim on a 1999, 996? My interior trim has cracked and need to be replaced. Are there any screws to take out or its it just clips holding it in place? (which case I just pull them off) Thanks for the help.
