  1. Yes, the light on the dash comes on from the handbrake. I have a feeling its the communication between the windshield switch and the relay area. Will report back later :)
  2. Thank you very much. The "eyes" didn't look like they had anything to do with it :) Now it looks like the roof isn't opening because of a different problem unfortunately. Using a multimeter its evident the switch works up to the point where the wires plug into it, but the signal doesn't seem to make it all the way to the relay central. At least the roof is stuck in the closed position.
  3. Ok, so we've deduced that the windshield switch isn't the problem. It works great, however when we were testing the contacts at the relay, we were receiving the button presses commanding the top to open and close (variations from 0 to 12V), but we were not getting anything when the windshield button was pressed. The parking brake is set, the light comes on on the dashboard, but when the convertible top latch is opened, the windows don't budge, its like they don't even know that its open and of course the top won't budge an inch. This problem was intermittent, but now it doesn't work at all. Any ideas? Could it be the wiring from the switch to the relay panel? A blown fuse? Anything?
  4. I am having a problem with this very switch after going through a troubleshooting guide. How can I get access to the switch? Do I just carefully pry that cover off?
  5. A million thank yous !!!!! It worked!! :)
  6. I recently purchased a 2000 Porsche Boxster from a local dealer. I recently replaced the battery because it died on me, and when I did, the radio asked for an access code. I looked through my manual and could not locate any such number. I called my dealer and they aren't much help. Can anyone help me? I read up online and found that by holding down "TP", i was able to obtain my serial number and model type. It is a Becker model with 10 presets: Type: 4462 Serial: x5028093 Thanks in advance! :)
