Has anyone removed the foam from the stock airfilter?

Yea mine will go from middle 180 to just about end of 0 then the fans come on and cool down to just above the 0 in street driving. freeway its just above middle .

I had an independent autobody place do it. I took some pics this morning didn't come out to good. I will take more if you want.Yea when I took the bumperettes off I was thinking what hack cut into the bumper like this lol what is this a Honda. I had mine painted they look way better cost arround 150 with paint.

I have noticed a couple of times a noise from the engine almost a rod knock sound. It is intermittent doesn’t happen all the time . It happens after I run the car kind of hard and shut it off then get back in it about 15 minuets later then I will drive the car for a bit and the noise is gone. I can only hear it from outside the car and it goes away above Idle. Its time for its oil change I have been running 0W40 can I run 5W40 see if that helps I live in SO Cal so it really never gets that cold.car only has 33,000 miles also does mobile one make a 5w40 or do you have any other suggestions Joey T 2000 Boxster
