  1. Congrats and welcome aboard! I have owned my 2003 C4S for about 1 year and this forum has been very helpful. I am ready to add some goodies this time around like B&M short shift kit, new exhaust, etc, etc... welcome to the madness and enjoy the ride. Congrats on the baby as well
  2. Thanks for your input-- I am about to do this same install in a few days. Just waiting to take the car to the dealer for "programming" of CDR-23 to recognize CD changer (I don't have this stock). I will let you know how my experience goes.
  3. Not a bad idea... can an independent shop program this as well? I would believe so as long as they have the right porsche tool??
  4. What is reasonable for a dealer to charge for programming CDR23 to recognize a CD changer (as in installation of Dension Gateway). My dealership wants to charge me "at least $100" which seems a tad excessive for this simple procedure. Thanks for all your input
  5. Thanks Loren. I do have memory seats-- what do you do for the mirror tilt? I have MOST with a CDR-23 so I hope the Dension Gateway (Ipod controller) works OK. Do 2003's have daytime running lights? Can this be turned on by dealer as well?
  6. I am going to take my car (2003 Carrera 4S) to the dealer so they can program my Becker radio to accept CD changer (Dension install after this) and was wondering what other things can be programmed by the dealer: automatic door lock, mirror tilt on reverse, etc?? Any input is appreciated and maybe comment on what you think of these choices.
  7. Congrats Niko and welcome to the board. The lease on my BMW 545i (2005) is about to be up and I can't wait to return it. Way too many compromises for my taste-- a car cannot be roomy, fun to handle, responsive, cool factor, etc in one package. My solution? Keep the 911 as my fun car and just got an Audi A8 for longer drives; the Audi in my opinion is 1000x more luxurious and comfortable than the 5 series and still fun to drive. I would suggest getting an extended warranty or trying to find a good reputable shop though. I bought my C4S certified pre-owned so I have had to deal with the dealer mostly but let me tell you that stuff not covered by warranty is very very steep. Take care and keep enjoying the 911.
  8. RFM-- Thanks for your input-- since I didn't do the original repair, what are the steps i need to do in the future? Are there any DIY pics out there? A step-by-step would be greatly appreciated by myself and fellow forum members experiencing this inconvenient rumble.
  9. This is exactly it! How do you fix it for good? The dealer reglued it and put some sort of foam, but the noise is back albeit much less than before. Thanks
  10. I know this is been looked at before, but... any hopes for integrating Ipod to my factory radio? If not-- what intelligent (read clean looking) after-market solutions are out there? I have become more and more addicted to Itunes and all the variety available and would love to bring this in the 911. Thanks Carlos
  11. Thanks for your input Chris. I love the car, no doubt about it. I think things have gotten worse since I took delivery of my new Audi A8L-- talk about buttery smooth! Definetely not as much a driver's car, but I wish we had a little bit of this polish in our 911's! I find myself driving the 911 more than any other of my cars and truly enjoy it. I am having issues with where the suede headliner meets the rear window. I took it to the dealership were for $300 they basically reglued I believe. It worked OK for a couple of weeks but the dreaded noise is back. I have tried to research it, but to no avail. Any ideas anyone?
  12. I am having some issues with the track/tuning knob on my radio. It seems like sometimes it wants to go back when I want to go forward and vice versa-- very very touchy. Any ideas? It this normal?
  13. Is it very common to hear noises coming from interior over time? I have had my C4S for about 1 year now and it seems like things have gone downhill over the last few months. Don't know if the weather changes -- hot to cold have made things worse. I had to have the headliner fixed in the rear window joint; apparently it had become unglued and making annoying noise. I would expect a high end car like 911's to be a little better built. My other car is an A8L and no noises whatsoever... The suspension is very different b/w the 2 but still... Thanks for any input.
  14. Great mod--very simple to perform. I just joined the forum and already benefitted from your collective expertise. My donation and support on the way... Wonderful site. Kudos to all of you.
