  1. That's a relief! Thanks for the info, I will sleep better now. Allen
  2. Thanks for the response Loren. The oil level appears to be fine. I haven't added any oil since I got it 3 months ago. I'll look for a leak, however there has been no sign of a leak under the car. If it was a leak wouldn't it be unusual to just happen the one time as opposed to everytime I started it up? I know little about Porsche and how to work on it. Would you recommend I take it into the dealer, or wait for it to happen again? The car was Porsche certified so I have a two year warranty. Thanks again. you and the members provide an invaluable service. I have learned quite a bit from reading the Forum. Although I am not yet I expect to be paying member soon. Allen
  3. I have a question regarding my 2002 996 Carrera Coupe2S 6 speed. I bought it from a dealer approximately 3 months ago with a two year warranty. It has 45k on it and is in Ca. This is my first Porsche, it is my daily driver, and I love it. Yesterday I went to lunch and was doing a little hot rodding. I parked it, then after work when I started it up, a substantial amount of white smoke with a blue tint started pouring out of it. This lasted about 5 minutes, and decreased over the 5 minutes until there was no more. I drove it home (45 miles) and it seemed fine, no warning lights of any kind. I started it up a couple of times last night and had no smoke. I drove it to work today (45 miles) without any problems or smoke. How concerned should I be? Any ideas or experience with this? Thanks for any input you may have, and thanks to this forum for all the great information you all put out. Allen :renntech:
