  1. I just dropped off the car at Pepe Porsche and it was still dumping oil! Basically it has been pissing oil since Friday night! I'm awaiting for them to take apart the car and see what PCNA says, but I already got a quote for a 3.8 X51 engine & Tranny....$12k, so I'm looking at under $16k for a 3.8L X51 Transplant....If so, I'm definitely going to do it myself! More to come as I hear back from Porsche...
  2. Would this be a warranty covered issue? What would be the cause of this?
  3. 6,000 miles later as I was waiting on the line at the Jersey side of the George Washington Bridge, my engine started to make this tin can rattling noise. I pulled over and discovered that nothing was wrong, as I got back into my car and continue on I noticed that the noise continued and it was even louder. Furthermore, I discovered a patch of motor oil where I once was. I got out to investigate and that's when the entire engine dumped it's motor oil on the side of the road. It doesn't look like it was leaking from the bottom rather it was the top. It was dark so it was pretty hard to determine anything. Prior to my engine blowing up the oil level was fine as was my engine temperature. There was no CEL light or any lights for that matter. Any suggestions on what may have happened to my engine? It's a 987 Base Boxster with about 33k miles. Like I said, it went through a tough 6,000 miles this past week. The car was part of the AKA Rally. Furthermore, the car went excess of 150mph at Bonneville Salt Flats, but that was over 3,000 miles ago....Any suggestions? before the dealership opens up on Monday? Would this be covered under warranty? and if not why wouldn't it be? Anything would help as this is my second Porsche, so I'm not exactly an expert.
  4. I'm looking for headers for a base 987 Boxster. New or Used, doesn't matter as long as it doesn't trigger the CEL. PM me with your best prices, I'm looking to install them this week while i'm under the car.
  5. I'm putting on front 996 C2 brakes on my front and trying to mount the stock fronts on to my rear....does the GT3 brakes fit the 987?
  6. Can anyone recommend a shop/person who knows how to roll fenders? and does a good job at it? I'm looking to roll my rear fenders....any leads will be appreciated. Thanks in advance. I'm looking to roll my rear boxster fenders
  7. Speaking of Cayman....do you know it its possible to put on the rear bumper and spoiler on a boxster without a lot of modification? I like the look of the cayman rear
  8. Anyone know of any front bumper options that are available for the 987?
  9. Anyone know if a 2002 996 TT Front Rotors/Caliper will fit the 987 Boxster? What other parts do I need to make it work or it's a definite no go? I know the boxster S is basically the as the 996 narrow body rotors/caliper but red, but what about the TT caliper/rotors? I have a base boxster The part numbers are Front left caliper: 996 351 429 10 Front right caliper: 996 351 430 10
  10. I'm thinking about getting rid of the muffler and the second set of cats all together. Just one pipe straight out. Should I be worry about loss or back pressure or is that something for the older cars?
  11. Anyone know where I can get Porterfield Brake Pads?
  12. Would this be a warranty issue as it's still covered under warranty?
  13. I have a 05 987 Base, and whenever I shift from 4th gear to 3rd or fifth to third I hear a grind before I get into gear. I first thought that i'm not depressing the clutch enough, but that's not the case. Even with the clutch all the way down, it still grinds and it's only that gear. Suggestions?
