  1. I have a 1999 C2 with 44k miles. I bought this used from a Porsche dealership two years and have had very little problems.

I am now worried about the dreaded engine problems that these cars have.

I requested service records from the dealership which at first were very forthcoming with the request.

Then, mysteriously, they could not access the information because they have a "New computer system".

Is there any way to tell if the engine has been replaced by the serial number on the engine?

Thanks in advance for any help.

  2. I found a reely good article on the PSA website but it didn't address aftermarket springs and shocks. I am considering the Eibach springs but my previous experience with Eibach springs with factory struts/shocks (non p-cars) have given me really stiff rides.

Anyone else out there with experience with the Eibach products?

See attached link to the PCA website for the article.
