  1. this is located on the drivers side wheel well? if I lift the car with a jack (i'm not able to remove the wheel as the wheel lock is inside) can I still get to it? Thanks
  2. sorry - let me clarify - I've tried using both by disarming the alarm and mechanically as well. The doors will not open either way; essentially i'm locked out even though i have the keys to get in. When I try to use the mechanical key the lock has no resistance and I'm not able to get in ~ any ideas?
  3. Yes- i've tried with the keys that I have and no luck. I inserted each key in the door lock and the key simply turns thanks
  4. Thank you, I have three keys- one that has no alarm; which i tried to use (this smaller key opens the glove) and two with alarms; are there more keys?
  5. My car has been locked and sitting for a few weeks now and I think the battery is dead. When I use the key to open the door there is no resistance and the door does not open. I have no idea how to get in. I tried to set-off the alarm and it didn’t work. I also tried to put my key in the door lock turn it three times and try the alarm again and nothing. Short of breaking the door window (which I’m about to do) I have no idea about what do to. I’ve read that you can open the hood with by pulling a latch in on the driver’s side wheel whell (sp?). The problem is that the wheel lock is inside the car and my car sitting pretty low. I really appreciate any help. Thanks Edgar 650-302-4953 2000 Boxster S
  6. 2000 Boxster S Problem 1: At start up cold or warm engine emits sometimes white smoke and sometimes a white/blue type smoke. I thought this may be typical for the car but now it does it much more that random. For example at a stop light the other day and when the light turned green the whole block filled with smoke and it seems to be getting progressively worse. Problem 2: Loud “squeaking” noise coming from engine. It sounds like a belt noise but the belt was replaced along with the alternator and the noise is still there. The noise does not get any louder when the engine is reved and seems to go away around 3500 rpm while driving. Once down to idle to noise comes back. Problem 3: Car seems to run a little hotter than in the past. From what I can remember the car would run at approx 180 -185 on highway and go up slightly at idle. The car is now running approx 200-210 range on highway and may go up approx 5 degree at adle. I think that a piston ring may be bad but I really don’t want to jump to any conclusions at this point. Any advise? Thanks
  7. 2000 Boxster S I replaced the clutch, pressure plate, throw-out bearing and installed a lightened flywheel. After the clutch was installed I heard “chatter” or a grinding type of sound whenever the clutch was not engaged. When I engaged the clutch the sound would go away. I assumed that it was the throw-out bearing took it all apart (replaced with another clutch, pp and throw-out bearing and still had the same issue). I assumed it was normal drove the car around for a bit until I heard a loud belt type noise. The belt was removed and the car was started and the noise is gone; even when the clutch pressed. Here is my dilemma what correlation would the belt have to do with the noise coming what appears to be the tranny area? Is it possible that one of the pulleys is bad? I still don’t know how that would tie into noise disappearing when the clutch is enaged with the belt on. Any advise or others with the same issue? Thanks
