  1. Thanks ToolPants. Yeah...its a weird connector. I just wanted to make sure the airbag is still working because I have an Open Road Race this weekend (not that the airbag would do much good with a 5 point harness, but you never know).
  2. I recently had my seat out to install an aftermarket seat. I did not have the key in the ignition during the removal/installation but I must have plugged the connector in the wrong way because my airbag light is on now. 1) Does this mean my airbag is not working? 2) Does anyone know which way the connector goes in? Since the connector is square, it seems to have 4 possible orientations. I must have chose poorly. 3) Will I need to disconnect the battery to get the airbag light off when I do finally get the connector right? Thanks, Jake
  3. I've never heard or seen my engine compartment fan come on. At the track , I've heard the C4 fans come on after the car is turned off and parked. My friend's 996 Turbo fan also does the same thing. Is the '99 C2 different? Does it only come on when the engine is running? I checked the fuse and its good. Maybe this is why my water temp was high. Thanks.
  4. I guess mine was hitting the middle of the 'zero' in 180 because I had the A/C on. Hopefully I'll be OK when I drive through Death Valley this week. B)
  5. Why wouldn't we run it open all the time? Can anything bad happen? I had it open today when I drove it. BTW.....my water temp was much better. The highest it got was in the middle of the '0' in '180'. It used to go over the 3/4 mark. I tested it on a long, curvy uphill at about 100 degrees outside temp (with my A/C on).
  6. Just going through the service records from the previous owner of my car and came across this receipt. Is this the rear main seal that was replaced? If so, am I good for a while or will the problem come back? Did Porsche improve the seal or something so it won't happen again? receipt.tif
  7. I had the top bracket backwards. It was forcing the radiator to be vertical. Once I flipped it around, I got the tilt on the radiator and everything went back together OK. One more question....what exactly does the bleeder valve do? Thanks.
  8. Thanks...I'm leaving them for now. One more question....in another post you say the third radiator should have a slight angle up. Do you have a better view of the orientation of the two mounting bracket halves? For me, the passenger side top grommet is popping out of the hole because the hose barely reaches the radiator. Maybe I have the top bracket backwards? Thanks again. Jake
  9. I accidentally re-used the clamps for the radiator hoses instead of using the threaded hose clamps. Is this OK? I haven't finished the job yet but the radiators are already bolted back on and I'd rather not go back in there. The initial leak test showed no leaks. Thanks.
