  1. Yes, well known charger was on the car to keep voltage above 12 and regulated. this is the same charger used daily for PIWIS work. PIWIS charger was connected. Hazards were flashing too as is req'd by the procedure. we have done this procedure on 997's before without issue. any tricks to the Cayman S? any indication that the buggy ver 18 PIWIS software could be messing this up? i'm not too thrilled about downgrading the PIWIS just to check also, the procedure does not specify which key to insert first, jus that all keys must be programmed even ones that were previously programmed. so i tried it both ways: tried to insert first a working key; error. started over from scratch and inserted first a new virgin key; same error.
  2. I hope it's "kosher" to ask this sort of thing here. Trying to program a new key on a 2007 Cayman S with the PIWIS tester running v 18 WM instructions followed fine, code is entered fine, comes the point when the first key to be programmed must be inserted, the key is inserted, hit next on the tester, then an error message is shown and the programming must be aborted. anybody had a similar situation? also waiting for a solution through official channels thx
