  1. Well I will try to contact K&N? Who did you speak to? Was it Leon? I need to try and get the same service. Here is what I found once I removed the throttle body boot (butterfly)
  2. Loren, I will attempt to clean it again. I am amazed that the MAF can be easily damaged. Will I do any harm to my car if I continue to drive with the CEL on or having a potential bad MAF? What could the dealer tell me? Thanks!
  3. I returned the product yesterday. Unforunately, I just received another CEL. P1130
  4. How easy is it to clean the idle control valve? Any pics?
  5. Papi, My car stalled as well for the first time and received two CELs during the install of the K&N. I too liked the new sound.
  6. I am curious do you have to disconnect the negative battery terminal before disconnecting the MAF sensor? If you don't will this do any harm?
  7. Well the CEL came back on after 150 miles. Might return the product.
  8. Loren, Once again, thank you! You read all these threads about MAF going bad due to oil from K&N and just want to be safe. I am actually quite surprised that a MAF can be damage fairly easy. The wires on the MAF seem to be pretty thick?
  9. I just want to give the K&N CAI a try for a few days. Hoping to won't cause any permanent damage before making a decision to return the product. Can I just disconnet the neg. battery terminal to reset? Also, I am sure I need the radio code? Thanks!
  10. Loren thanks for the quick response. I only wrapped the filter with newspaper for about 2 hours. How fast can the oil damage the MAF? Is it permanent? -Can the MAF get damaged that quickly? -Is it something I need to take care of ASAP? Thanks!
  11. Well just installed the K&N intake and after 30 miles or so, I got a CEL. The CEL had two codes: P1128 & P1130. Has anyone else had these codes due to the K&N? I double checked to make sure the MAF is not backwards. Can the new K&N cause damage to MAF, O2 sensors? I am concerned!!!
  12. First, you need to do a 4-wheel alignment. Next, it depends on the type of alignment you have done. It does not matter what suspension you have, you still have to decide what type of alignment you want since you can drastically change the camber and toe front and rea. I wanted an alignment more for DE events, ie. more camber. I had Ruf Autocenter do the the alignment for $140. The dealer is a little more expensive than this. I just called German Motors in MI (Troy) and was quoted $300 for a 4 wheel alignment. Ouch! Does anybody know of another shop in MI, I can compare prices? I just called Belle Tire and they said $70? Would anyone send it to them? They said they use Hunter equipment. Thanks!
  13. Hey guys! I came across this pic w/instructions on how to build your own CAI for the P-Car. Under FAQs in Rennlist.com. Has anyone attempted this setup, it looks pretty good based on the pic (professional). I am thinking about trying it out, but confused on how to assemble to MAF to the PVC? Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks!
  14. Does anyone know the degree of angle of the throttle body tube?
  15. Does anyone know the p/n number to our key fobs? Are they same for all model years 1999-2006? I have an opportunity to get a set of new key fobs from I believe a 2006 model. I am not sure if I can use the housing and get a new key blade cut & programmed for my MY00 C2. Thanks for input.
  16. Either way. Hey guys, I did my first oil change. I used 0W40 M1 (MI). Is this ok? I was told by the dealer this is what they use. The only reason I ask is because I just briefly glanced at the owners manual and noticed that is said to use other visciosity of oil, such as 5W30, 10W40 or 15W40. Should I be fine with the MI temps? Also, what is the normal engine operatine temp? Is it around 180-190 degrees? Thanks!
  17. Hey guys! With a C2 do you just need the front end aligned? Also, what is type cost for an alignment? Thanks! I have the stock supension.
  18. Loren, I just received the new bushings for the rear. What is the best way to install them on the stabilizer bar?
  19. I actually felt I had to do the same thing by pressing the filter in the canister first then being able to easily screw the canister to the engine. I put in 9 qts of oil and the dipstick level is fine, but the guage on dash is below the line? Is that common? Thanks!
  20. Can the filter be put on in any direction? Does it matter which side is put in? Thanks!
  21. Loren, Do you recommed this software over others, such as http://www.scantool.net/ http://www.autoenginuity.com/ http://www.obd-2.com/ http://www.digimoto.com/ Thanks!
  22. Loren, thanks! I just got home and borrowed a digital caliper from work and the measurement is 18.7mm, just like you said. I am going to replace the two in the rear. I got confused because a repair manual (Mitchell stated that the std bar uses 20.8mm.) didn't think it was right. Figured you would know. Greatly appreciate it. Also, is it true that the sport susp. has a thinner bar? Do you recommend changing both, not just one? Is it difficult? Loren, Torque wrench cheap to get? Can I just buy a basic one? Do I need 1/2 or 3/8? Thanks!

  24. I have a 2000 C2 and am looking to replace the stabilizer bar bushing? I believe I have the std bar 996 333 792 26. How can I confirm the thickness before buying part?
