Hi everyone I own a 99 Boxster. I've experienced a problem with my power windows and will appreciate any comments or thoughts. After my car has been sitting outside my driveway for 2 months i've decided to take it out for a ride. After i started the car and closed the door, both driver/passenger windows suddenly automatically rolled down 1/4 of the way from the closed position (i thought this only happens when i unlatch the convertible top). I am aware that the windows should open about half an inch to clear the rubber seals when opening the doors but this isn't the problem I have. This has never happened before. I tried to play with the power window switches to see if it would close back up all the way but I got no luck. I even tried pressing the switch for the convertible top and tried different combinations of pressing the power window buttons and convertible switch button. I also tried stepping out of the car, locking it, and getting back in to close it but nothing seemed to work. After doing this for around 5 minutes, both my windows were able to roll back up. Everything seemed to resume back normal after a couple more tests of rolling the windows up and down (the windows work perfectly including the automatic movements/touch function). To make a long story short, I got onto the freeway with my windows shut tight. After I hit a small bump, both my windows AGAIN automatically rolled down 1/4 of the way from the close position. Please keep in mind that the mechanics of the power windows both work fine; they can open the whole way but will only close 3/4 of the way. Seems as though it has some kind of a memory issue in thinking that the windows are fully closed when there is still 1/4 of a way left.
