  1. This Becker cable looks promising. All I need is audio out and power. I don't want to be able to control the iPod thru the radio just power it and hear the audio through the car's speakers so maybe this will work. The cable is a bit expensive though. Thanks.
  2. While doing some maintenance work on my '00 Boxster I started to talk to the tech about my iPod and how I have it connected in my car. Currently I just have a Kensington FM transmitter (http://us.kensington.com/html/6402.html) that connects my iPod to my car speakers. He told me that my radio has an aux input on the back and with the right cable harness I could wire in the Kensington harness to the aux input. This would create a setup so that the new harness would still plug into the data port on the bottom of my iPod AND provide power as well as sound through the cars speakers, via the aux
  3. I had this problem as well about a week ago when a huge rainstorm came thru DC. It started with my door lock on the dash lighting up and my door locks becoming disabled. I drove to work thinking it just might be a bug. When I came out of work that afternoon, my car wouldn't start. I could turn the ignition switch on and all the lights would light up, but when I turned the key - nothing. I called the Porsche dealership and they walked me through a few questions. When I found the soaking wet carpet under my drivers side seat, I immediately chalked it up to a faulty new top that I had just gott
  4. Not sure -but there are. I checked this week and sure enough - the cable for the key fob has snapped. I checked with Porsche and they said it could cost upwards of around $300. It looks like the cable snakes pretty deep into the car too so on the surface it doesn't look like something that a rookie like myself could easily fix. :(
  5. Wow! I read the whole thread and all he had to do was take it to the dealer to recode his key? Funny. Well, mine is definitely making noise when I push the button on the key so it does sound like a broken cable. I'll get into it this weekend and maybe take some pics if need be. Thanks!!! This thread will definitely help me to diagnose the problem better
  6. Thanks. I'll take a look this weekend.
  7. My keyless entry on my '00 won't open the back trunk anymore. I just hear some gear noise (as if it were trying to release it) and then nothing. The manual latch near the drivers seat still works so it's currently more of a nuisance than anything else. Anybody have any ideas?
