  1. Hi all, I saw in a RUF package that they offer the look of an MY02 996 (updated bi-xenon) for the boxster. I couldn't find much info on this from them. It got me thinking however. How hard would it be to convert a boxster over to a 996 front end? I would image that you can get the new headlights, and then a turbo front bumper for a 996, and it should all fit together. Considering they're pretty much the same car until this departure, is there anything under the skin that would have to be addressed?
  2. I would love to do the same. I'm not a fan of the interior of my '99. Changing the colour and texture would be great. I would love to see kits for this. Hopefully someone will respond with insight.
  3. Turned out my battery was dying. With a good charge everything is back to normal.
  4. Thanks for the tip. From what I read looking around the forum it's possible, but have it's share of pros and cons.
  5. Hey guys. I've been poking around thinking about the litronic upgrade (US MY99). I just realized that they're not bi-xenon. Yay yay, I'm behind the loop. I found this site http://www.xtralights.com/index.asp?PageAc...ustom&ID=53 They offer xenon kits to retrofit existing lights. Can you take one of these kits, and add them to the litronic upgrade to get bi-xenon? How about just getting two more sets and skip the litronic all together? Nothing in life is this easy, what am I missing? What kind of load does this put on the system. Feel free to crack an egg of knowledge on me. Thanks fellas
  6. I have a MY99. I noticed some rear spoiler trouble yesterday when I tried to manually operate it. The spoiler went up, but then wouldn't come down. I eventually got it down after turning off the car. I don't remember if I was just in accessory mode or if I restarted the car. Today however, the spoiler will go up about an inch then stop. I can retract it from there. I have noticed the auto operation yet, so I can't comment. Has anyone seen this before? Thanks for the help.
  7. So I went with my neighbor to the dealership yesterday to pick up her brand new S. I got my 99 from her so she could get the new one. **** does it look fine. The 19" carrera classics put my stock 17s to shame. I want those wheels! So my questions is, will 19" carrera fit on my MY99, and do I need spacers for the new wheel width? I'm gonna get RED calipers next!!! :) if this works. Thanks
  8. Wow, lots of info on this thread. I've very excited about adding the OBC and cruise control to my 99 boxster 2.5L manual. I'm kinda overloaded on part numbers techniques, and differences in Boxsters from country to country though. I can just see my porsche going from working to dead, ha. Can I follow the MY2000 procedure at the beginning of the thread? What's E-gas? Finally what is the parts list needed for MY99? This is my first really nice car and I wanna keep it that way.
