  1. I will check with MAF sensor with durametric. My throttle body and ICV are spotless. Considering that I do have a extra secondary air injection valve- would it be worthwhile to replace it too see what happens? Also, would I possibly get these types of symptoms if I have the vacuum hoses hooked up wrong? I will also check to make sure that all the vacuum hoses are still hooked up and didn't come undone. Bottomline- Can a problem with the secondary air injection system (either valve, hoses...) cause a car to idle slightly rough?
  2. For about 1 year I have noticed that after my car is warmed up, idle seems a little rough. If you pay close attention you feel an occasional very slight shudder- similar to when a engine misfires. I hooked the engine up to my durametric system and it does't appear that I am getting any misfires. It didn't seem to be causing any issues so I just left it. I then put cat bypass pipes on and the idle issue became much more apparent. Sometimes the rpms would fluctuate siginificanty and seem that the engine was about to stall. I did have a CEL on however I thought it was related to the cat byp
  3. I have a bad left rear ride height sensor on my 04 ctt (PASM). I can't find the part number. Due to wear, I cannot make out the part number on the sensor on my ctt. I am not sure of the exact name of the sensor. I have also seen them referred to a level sensors. Thanks, Steve
  4. I have searched around and couldn't find an answer. My 996 has about 78k miles. I have had a ticking noise from left side of the engine. Checked the EGR valve- not the cause. The ticking is present at all times- hot or cold. Speeds up when engine is rev'd. I have tried different weights of oil 0w-40 to 15w-50 and the weight has not changed the ticking. The strange thing about the ticking is that about one year ago I slightly overfilled the oil during an oil change and the ticking went away. I thought that maybe it was the weight that I used (15w-50) so I used 0w-40 the next time. I
  5. In my opinion, the best mods for the money is removing the helper spring on the clutch pedal. Gives the clutch a much better feel. Takes about 10 minutes. Cost=Free! I have modded my car quite a bit and my absolute favorite is the PSE mod. Not too expensive ($75 at my local shop), makes a big difference.
  6. I have been changing my AOS. Everything is going well except that I am having problems getting the vacuum hoses hooked up properly. My car is a 1999 C2. I have several hard plastic/rubber hoses however I cannot figure out where a few things are supposed to go. From the check valve (the one above the alternator)- I have two hoses coming out- one comes out of the check valve via a rubber elbow connector, the other tube is about 1.5 feet then it connects to a + rubber connecting piece. I cannot figure out where the hoses coming from the + rubber connector are supposed to connect too.
  7. I am in the process of replacing my AOS and I have run into a few snags. I have encountered a hose clamp that I cannot get off. The clamp runs the entire circumference of the hose. On one end the clamp forms a triangle. It appears that you need to spread the triangle however I am not able too. I have seen references in the past to similar hose clamps. People have mentioned that it is easiest to cut the clamp and install a worm clamp. I realize that cutting it off would be easy however I would prefer to remove it without cutting. Anybody have any idea of how to remove these clamps?
  8. Chainsaw. Just kidding. There are four bolts. One on each end of the lower seat rail.
  9. Thanks for the reply. I took off the sensor, everything looked fine. The connector was connected properly. Does anybody know the part number and the correct name for this item? Thanks
  10. I started my 05 CTT a few days ago and the "air suspension faulty workshop" warning came on. I had garage door problems so I had to park my cars outside overnight. It rained quite hard. I have played around with the air suspension level and also the suspension ride setting and everything seemed to work fine. Tonight, I hooked the car up to my durametric reader. Under the level section, there was a warning that said faulty left rear level sensor. I tried to clear the fault however I was not able to. Can anybody tell me where the "level sensor" is and also how to determine if mine i
  11. I have not personally used this product however I have seen it mentioned in the cayenne section. I would take a look there or at rennlist's cayenne section.
  12. PSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Also, sugar in the gas tank to feed the horses so they can make more horsepower. just kidding.
  13. Are the rotors on Cayenne Turbo's the same size as the Cayenne S? I specifically need rear rotors. I see references to rotors for 18" wheels and 17" wheels. Would my turbo need the 18" size? Very confused.
  14. I have a set of MODA 220 wheels on my CTT. They look great however I do not like the center caps. I took the center caps off of my 996 and tried to put them on the CTT however they do not fit. Does anybody know where I can find new center caps (preferably with the Porsche Logo) that will fit? The measurements are below- Stock Porsche Inner Diameter 59mm (2.32") Outer Diameter 76mm (2.72") Moda Center Caps Inner Diameter 68mm (2.68") Outer Diameter 74mm (2.91")
  15. does anybody know if the license plate bracket for the s and turbo are the same?
  16. I had that problem on my 914. I used "Grease Lightning" with a paper towel, let it dry for a few minutes, then use "invisible glass" with a microfiber towel for the final clean. I had to use the invisible glass two times. I purchased all the products at home depot. I was very happy with the results. If this doesn't work, repeat the process a few times.
  17. When I said the rear door, I meant the rear passenger door, not the rear hatch.
  18. On the trim around the rear door, passenger side, I saw a plastic part. I started pulling it. I have no clue what it is. looks like a light sensor of some sort. Also, I have seen that some cayennes didn't come with a spare- it was an option. I am trying to figure out whether mine came with one and/or can I put one in. Is it possible to place a spare over the woofer?
  19. I am sorry to continue to bug everybody about this however I am convinced that my car has a phone module. I realize that it would have been put in after 04. I have looked under the passenger seat and I am not sure what I am looking at. I see wires everywhere. I see several things that could be a phone module. Does anybody have a picture of the phone module in place or specific advice on how to find it. Also, since my pcm starts with "System error- phone cd changer not available" and I am certain that I do not have a cd changer- is there a way to remove the cd changer from the pcm opt
  20. I purchased my 04 CTT last week. Initially I had an issue with the nav unit however I found that the fiber optic cable from the nav unit was not connected. Now it works fine however I am getting a error when starting that says "SYSTEM ERROR- PHONE, CD CHANGER NOT AVAILABLE". This is the same error that I got in the past however it also stated that the nav unit was not avail, however that is now resolved. I am not worried about the CD Changer as my car does not have a changer. How can I find out if my car has the Phone Module. If I can figure out whether or not my car has the phone mod
  21. Thank you for the info. I found some wiring issues that may be my problem. What is CAN? Is that one of the plugs? Steve
  22. Now I am very confused. I am now home from my return trip which means that I can now take apart the car to figure out what is wrong with the nav unit. Here is what I found. I am now very confused. I mispoke in my first post that said that my model year was 2005, it is actually 2004. The car has a pcm2 with bose amp- no cd changer. When I removed the dvd nav module from under the passenger seat, the model number of the unit started with 997. I thought that was strange because I thought that would indicate that it was a newer module. So now I am wondering if it had nav stock or if som
  23. The radio works great. Also, the unit is still under the front passenger seat.
  24. I just picked up my 05 CTT. I am new to the cayenne forum and also new to the PCM2 system. The car has the factory PCM2 and Nav unit. The PO had a aftermarket dvd unit in the backseat. They removed the dvd prior to selling. Long story however I do not have the PO contact info and I cannot get it. My problem is that when I try to use the nav unit, it says "system error: navi,cd changer, phone not available" (or something similar to this. I have the nav data cd however it doesn't help unless the pcm detects the nav unit. Anybody know what the problem could be? Could it have something
