  3. Hi, I ordered some X51 headers for my 2007 997 C2S (I have the Sport Exhaust installed). I am having it installed by a local motorsport specialist, but would like to provide him with the correct installation settings. Does anyone have the correct torque values for the bolts with which the manifold is connected to the heads, and if available the specs for the connection on the catalytic converter side? Any other advice is very much appreciated (I have new bolts and gaskets). Thanks, Pete

I ordered my set through http://www.livermoreperformance.com/ They were about the same price as Alex at Shark Werks (only spoke to him on the phone, but he was really helpful) could give me, and since I had dealt with Monty and Steve of Livermore Performance before I ordered it through them. Drop shipped to my door (they should be on their way...!! :P ) for ~$2400.- I plan on having a local shop install them, so if anybody has any tips on what to specifically be aware off, please let us know.   6. Hi Paul, All, Thanks for this interesting topic. I recently purchased the H&R front and rear sway bars for my 997C2S, and plan on having them installed at a local shop. I read something in this topic on the additional needed hardware. Is this only needed for the GT3 sway bar or also for the H&R, the reason for asking is that the H&R's came without any additional hardware at all.... Thanks, Pete
  7. Hi, thanks to all for the replies and advice. Just to give some more info: I live in Boise, Idaho, and I took delivery of the car in early December, since then we have had snow on the ground (or very cold conditions with sandy roads) for almost entire December January and February. I was able to take the car out 1 time in December, and as of the last 2 weeks, a little more frequent. They have started to sweep the roads. I never drive less then 20minutes, make sure the car is warm on both water and oil, and if this is the case, I do get on it. I did not go above 4100rpm till after ~650miles, and then in about ~250miles I started moving up in rpm's (again if the car was both warm on water and oil). Currently I am at ~1300miles and have started to redline (running through the gears) it occasionally when the car is hot. I would be interested to hear if I need to do anything else (driving wise), or what is considered as a longer haul or trip. I always used Chevron fuel, recently started using Shell V-power, but am thinking that I will switch back to Chevron, as I just noticed that Shell here uses 10% Ethanol in their V-power.   8. Hi, I have a 997 C2S, production date june 2007, and I bought it new in November. It currently has 1300 miles on it, and I added 0.5ltr of Mobil1 at around 600 miles, since then no oil consumption according to the oil level indicator.... When I look to the rear of the car, and look at both sets of exhaust pipes, there is a difference in "coloring" between the two sides. The Left side is a lot more black, and the right side, a lot more gray-ish..... Should I conclude that the right side cylinder bank (which I believe corresponds with the left set pipes) "spits" out more oil or other contamination...?? Anybody else seen this before??   9. I bought this system of Ebay back in Nov/Dec last year, in total I paid $2100 including shipping. I will not sell the original sport exhaust system, as I might still need that when I will move to Europe (and have to present the car to the local Europe DMV inspection). For that reason I actually might not install it until I have obtained registration of the car in Europe, if so I will post the results in regards to the upgrade from Europe (in about 8months). In order to install it I do need some kind of End-Tips, anyone any suggestions on what to use...??? Thanks, Pete
  10. Hi, I recently purchased a full Milltek Sport Exhaust for a 997 S. The 'Kit' contains Left and Right Headers, Left and Right 200CPSI Hi-Flow Race Cats, Left and Right Mufflers and Left and right tailpipe inlets. I currently have the OEM Sport Exhaust on my '07 997 C2S, but read that Milltek offered a nice 'resonance free' system and bought it to have the option to switch. I believe that this system only needs/uses the OEM tailpipes/end-tips? I don't think the current Sport Exhaust tips will fit. Does anyone know exactly which tailpipes/end-tips will work with this system? Attached a picture of what I have. Any technical feedback on whether or not one should do this is really appreciated (I do understand that there will be a big 'personal factor' in this decision) Thanks a lot, Pete :renntech:
  11. Hi, I will be moving back from Idaho to NL next summer as well, importing my new, to be delivered, C2S coupe. I had a friend who moved back this summer, and he imported his Targa4. As he is not very technical, he had all changes done by the dealer, and I am in the process of finding out exactly what they were. Most of what I know now has been mentioned, potential insurance problem with the alarm, radio reconfiguration for frequency steps, side markers that need to blink according to Dutch law. My friend furthermore mentioned that the Nav needed to be changed/updated (not only buying the local DVD), if I find out exactly what it was I will post it, but whatever it was, it was done easily. In regards to the rear bumper; the 2 lumps sticking out can be removed, but you are left with 2 holes, which I believe are bigger then the Dutch license plate will cover. An OEM European bumper cover (without the 2 lumps) is not too expensive, but they come unpainted. If you are going to swap the rear bumper cover (I am), I would wait until after visiting the RDW (Dutch ~DMV), as I believe that if you have your car inspected with the US rear bumper cover, you will get a notification on your registration (kenteken) that will allow you to use the smaller sized (US style) license plates, so that you will have the choice between Dutch or US style. PQR5CHE, how did you change the setting in order to get your side markers to blink?? Hi Loren, the CDC-4 was exactly as you described, and when applying 12v and ground to the pins, it released the CD's just like being hooked up in the car (at the same time I noticed a red light in optical connections lid up). The DVD, I think, has passed away, I did for a second also see a red light pop up on the optical side, that was when I put ground to the top right pin, and power to the one below it. Nothing mechanical happened, and it did not release the DVD. Tried another 5different possibilities, and might have even fried it in the process. I am happy I got my CD's back, and consider the DVD player to be lost. Thanks again to all for your help, Pete

  14. Hello Loren, thank you for your reply. Can you please clarify a little more on what is A1 or A2 in reference to the pins, for both CDC and DVD. I editted the picture in my previous post, "drawing" the numbers that I could see in the CDC. I see no numbers or references in the DVD pins? Thanks so much, Pete
  15. Hello Paul, Loren, Thanks for your replies, I will attach 2 close up pictures of the backs of both the DVD and CDC-4. At the time when I took these two items out of the car, I did not salvage any connectors or other wiring material.... :-(
  16. I have removed the DVD NAV player and CDC-4 player from my 06 997 C2S, which unfortunately burned almost beyond recognition (engine compartment and interieur). As I have these 2 players sitting on my desk, I was looking for a wiring schedule to try to find out how to get power to both of them (to the correct pins), so that I can at least see if the basic operations on the players still work, and retrieve the CD's and DVD. I have no original connectors or wires, just the two players. The players look to have escaped unharmed, but it would be nice to check (and get my music back... ;-) Anybody any ideas that could help? I am quite unfamiliar to posting on renntech, but have read a lot of topics with great interest. Very nice how people are sharing their experiences. Thanks a lot, Pete
